VERY QUIET AND RELAXING WATERFRONT!!!! 2+bedroom, 2200 square foot cabin for rent on Pleasant Pond in Litchfield, Maine. Available for a long weekend or by the week. House sits just feet to the water, with 180 feet of water frontage and has a large deck overlooking the pond. Amazing location offering a peaceful environment, yet convenient to I95 and I295 (just 15 minutes to Augusta, 35 minutes to the Lewiston/Auburn area and 50 minutes to Portland). Home has 2 bedrooms in addition to 2 lofts for guests. Kitchen offers 5 burner gas stove, mahogany cabinets and Deer Isle granite counter tops. Enjoy watching a meteor shower from the outdoor hot tub during a cool evening or stay warm and cozy inside next to the wood stove. Very quiet, yet convenient location. Enjoy miles of fun, sunshine and unbelievable fishing on Pleasant Pond and Cobboseecontee Stream. Relax in the hammock, grill some steaks on the deck while watching the boats go by and the fish jump, or play a game of horseshoes and watch the cows and horses at the adjacent farm. Canoe and rowboat are on site, or bring your own boat and tie up to the dock. If cabin fever starts to set in, within 20 minutes are plenty of great restaurants, outlet stores, movie theaters and golf courses. Fully furnished with washer and dryer on site. Firewood on site. No smoking allowed in the house. Small pets allowed with additional pet deposit. Beautiful, relaxing property but still some unfinished construction not recommended for toddlers whose curiosity might get the better of them. We are working every chance we get to make sure our home is safe and sound and "kid-friendly", so please keep checking in.
We are both in the Army National Guard and just returned from Afghanistan. Our work commitments currently have us in New Hampshire so we have decided to rent out our home. We purchased it in 2004 while serving in Iraq and have made a lot of improvements, but aren't quite finished yet. Sorry for the unfinished stuff, we'll get to it as soon as possible!
Patrick Rand purchased this cottage in 2004
We purchased this home because it is very unique in how convenient it is to get on the highway yet so peaceful, quiet and relaxing.
Pleasant Pond connects to Cobboseecontee Stream, which connects to many other ponds and lakes. There are literally miles and miles of exploring you can do on the water. At one end is a store where you can buy gas, sandwiches, drinks and pizza. Large lawn for playing games and nestled in behind farm pastures, so you can't even see the property from the main road.
Will be a very nice rental when all is said and done, however "relaxing property but still some unfinished construction projects.", is not close to accurate... Major construction is still needed... When we arrived there were dying mice all over the basement... A pool table as listed on this site is included in this rental which myself and the party I was super excited for... It doesn't help when the tips to the pool sticks were broken and no replacement kits were available... Will be a nice rental when the cabin renovations are complete but until then the price for a weekly rental is quite high.
Overall had a great time here! It's great for a low key, relaxing vacation. The property is still somewhat under construction and there were no places to change in private (no shades on bedroom windows and bathroom window faced the hot tub and neighbors).
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for for a romantic get away. The hot tub and wood stove were a nice touch. It is right in a lake so I can also imagine it being a beautiful summer get away also. Thank you Patrick for great weekend!
We really enjoyed our time at Pleasant Pond. The cottage was great even though it is going through renovations. Bring some games and enjoy the piece and quiet since during the winter there is hardly anyone around. I was able to watch a meteor shower from the hot tub which was fabulous.
