I moved here 8 months before Katrina, lost everything but my personality; loved the coast so much that I would not move! I love the pace, not to fast nor to slow. I love the peacefulness of the Pass and the neighbors are wonderful. Literally you can walk to everything you might need. I love the cottage, truly my first home; but eventually too small for me and my mom when she would come to visit. I love the cottage and I hope that you might consider a visit and appreciate this quaint experience!!!
Jill Mitchell purchased this cottage in 2007
If you are looking for a place to relax and 'get away from it all' then the cottage is for you! It is very relaxing and cozy; you can walk to anyplace that you may need and if you want more, there is golfing, walk to the park, tennis courts, library, fishing and more. If you feel like getting out, the casino's are up and down the coast, dancing, shopping all within 20 - 30 minutes. New Orleans is about an hour away to have fun and then come back that night to have peace and quiet...
Proximity to restaurants, beach, cafe's etc make this ideally situated. Yet, cottage is in quiet area with friendly neighbours. I very much enjoyed the little balcony to relax at the end of a work-day while watching spring clouds roll in. Price versus what is offered is fair. I will stay again next time I visit Pass Christian.
Great little cottage inThe Pass. Quiet area, but walking distance to the harbor and to resturants.
Was as described, no surprises that we could not adjust to. Was not expecting a full bed on springs, not so great for older couple. Glad I brought paper towels and extra toilet paper. Very clean, helpful and friendly neighbors. Loved the coffee mugs but could have had a larger sauté pan. I would recommend and book again, just need comfortable recliner and I would stay forever. No remote to tv so no weather or news glad they had wifi. Thanks for a lovely stay!
The 'Pass' is a small, quaint town that is slowly rebuilding from Katrina. it is peaceful and kind. Within walking distance of my cottage you can dine on local seafood, shop, stop for coffee or for a cocktail in local bars. On a nice day walk to the park across from the beach. Stop by the library, post office or attend a church within minutes. The Pass has events year around. New Orleans is a little over an hour away. The Mardi Gras is just a few minutes walk to enjoy all of the artistic floats that go by.
