Moved to Williamsburg about a year ago, it truly is the best neighborhood in Brooklyn
Erin Swenson purchased this apartment in 2013
Location! Comfortable and clean, easy to feel at home here.
The apartment was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and there was a huge closet with lots of coat hangers. The shower was fantastic too! The kitchen area had all the essentials. We used the clothes washer and dryer a few times which was really convenient as we stayed two weeks.
There were great views, especially at night looking over towards the Manhatten Bridge and NYC skyline.
The location was only a five minute walk from Marcy Ave train station on the M and J subway lines, which are only one stop from Manhattan over the Williamsburg Bridge. We caught the Airport train from JFK to Jamaica Center, then transferred to the J line, which only took us around 45 minutes and cost us $7.75 USD ($5 for the Airport train + $2.75 for the subway). We did the reverse when leaving.
There is a convenient grocery store a couple of minutes down Broadway which had a good supply of take home meals and drinks, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby too.
On the downside, the area is pretty grungy and like a construction zone - but we found most of NYC to be the same. Take care walking as there were lots of potholes and uneven surfaces.
Also, the apartment is practically under the Williamsburg Bridge, so there was constant traffic noise, sirens and trains. The double glazed windows help, but still noisy. However, we were so exhausted from all our NYC activities we had little trouble getting to sleep.
If going back to New York would stay here again.
Erin gave very clear instructions on how to pick up the key and find the location.

Hot water was a problem. I called about it several times and owner did nothing but state "I'm not a plumber. There was several light bulbs burnt out. Place had great view and was clean.
We can safely say that this is the only time that we have walked into a room and shouted "WOW" upon seeing the view from the apartment for the first time. This theme continued pretty much every morning and night upon first glance out the huge window. The view aside, it is probably the best accommodation that we have stayed in - blowing your large hotel chains out of the water. We had some of the most comfortable sleeps in a luscious bed. The attention to detail and small additions to the apartment such as flowers and chocolate made us feel at home. The location is close enough to get to the tourist hotspots in just a short subway ride, but far enough away to experience authentic New York within Williamsburg. There's an array of bars and restaurants to suit most tastes within walking distance. We will definitely be pointing friends and family to this apartment when they plan visits to New York. Erin and Sal are quite simply wonderful hosts, and we thank them for making our holiday of a lifetime that bit more special.
This was a wonderful experience and we had great trouble tearing ourselves out of the apartment be cause the view was so great. The apt. is very clean , modern and comfortable both living room and bedroom. Loved the open kitchen, living area. It definitely had an upscale feeling. There are many restaurants in the area along with shops and clubs and a grocery store 2 blocks way. We also found the east river ferry stop is only 3 blocks away and enjoyed taking that to Manhattan. At a different ferry stop - the Dumbo stop at the base of the Brooklyn bridge are some interesting restaurants on the riverfront we hope to checkout on our next Brooklyn visit. Our favorite meal was at the Rabbit Hole near the apartment. We are very much looking forward to a return trip to this great apt. This is my 7th vacation apt. rental and is definitely on the top of my favorite list. Erin was great with communication and quick responses to all questions.
