About Miranda Boender
We are Robert and Miranda and we love travelling together with our daugther Danique. In 2010 we went to Bali for the first time. Ever since we fell in love with this beautiful island and its lovely people. We visited many places around the world but we didn't get the same feeling like in Bali.
Therefore we decided to build our own home on Bali. This way we can share this magical feeling with others. Our holiday home is known as 'Villa Riang'. It is situated in the village Mayong right next door of our Balinese friends Putu and Ria. It was built in 2012 by local workmen. Putu and Ria were in charge of the build. This way we could support many local families.
Do you want to share this feeling with us? Book your stay in 'Villa Riang'!

Why Miranda Boender chose Lovina
In 2010 we went on holiday to Bali for the first time. We rented a lovely villa in the North of Bali. Even before the holiday was over we knew for sure: Next year we are coming back to this beautiful island.
Renting a villa with staff is very common in Bali. Ria was a member of staff at the villa and that is how we met. She cooked and cleaned for us and with her colleague she made sure that the villa was very clean and tidy. Talking to her gave us the feeling like we had known her for years.
We stayed at the same villa in 2011. Luckily Ria still worked there. We also met her husband and children. It may sound strange but in this short period of time we developed a close relationship with Ria and her family.
We talked about our dream of creating our own spot on Bali. As if it was meant to be Ria told us about her dream of managing a villa in the town where she lived. That way she would be able to combine work and family life. Then she mentioned a stretch of land alongside their house. We would be able to build a villa there. It did not take us long to consider. This is what we wanted: Our own place on beautiful Bali!
The construction of our villa started in November 2011. After 9 months of hard work 'Villa Riang' was finished and we are very proud of the result. On the 28th of July 2012 'Villa Riang' was officially consecrated according to Balinese tradition. We attended this ceremony during our first stay in the villa. This was a very special experience for us.
What makes this villa unique
Amazing views from the terrace. Brand new home, away from touristical areas. Private pool, excellent beds, air conditioning. Devoted staff who will make your stay unforgettable!
Guestbook comments from the owner
The villa was the epitome of luxury, set in the hills (literally) of Northern Bali - it is perfect for people wanting to get away from the chaos of South Bali or for people wanting to experience Bali life in a rural setting.
Putu and Ria were absolutely committed to ensuring our stay was perfect, going out of their way to include us in all aspects of their daily life from sharing meals to shopping for fruit at the local stalls, we were treated as part of the family for the duration of our stay.
Ria happily arranged all our activities, which included joining Putu for a trek through the rice fields during which he shared his local knowledge regarding religion, traditional medicine and farming - this in itself is an absolute must do - followed by a sumptuous feast cooked by Ria with so much food we had to tell her to stop cooking!
I can't recommend this place enough! Although it's a little way to the nearest town centre (10 min to Seririt, about 30 min to Lovina) it is just a beautiful area and Ria and Putu are more than happy to arrange transport anywhere at your request - including transfers to and from Ngurah Rai airport.
Stop thinking about it and just book it!!!
