This large home offers plenty of space for a family trip to London, with good local amenities and transport connections.
Enter the property and you’ll find the clean and bright sitting room with smart wooden floors, large sash window, a huge L-shaped grey sofa, antique side tables and a wall-mounted flatscreen.
This room leads through to the back of the house and the vast kitchen/dining room. There is an interesting mixture of antique and modern furnishings here, and the wooden dining table and chairs look trendy against the contemporary white walls and kitchen area. The many velux windows allow lots of natural light to flood in and provides a lovely spot for an evening meal.
The kitchen is fashioned in white and stainless steel. You will find all the amenities you need here, including a big fridge/freezer, a microwave, hob, oven, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. This end of the room also opens out to a further living space with a large white sofa and another flatscreen TV at the back of the house. The French windows lead out onto a pretty terrace garden where there is plenty of seating.
There is also a utility room with a guest loo on the ground floor.
On the first floor, the master bedroom is serene and homely. The décor consists of pastel shades, and there’s a comfy double bed as well as bedside tables, antique chests of drawers, sash windows and a TV. The en suite has modern cream tiling, his and hers sinks, a modern glass shower unit and a heated towel rail.
On this floor you will also find a child’s room with a white single bed, a wardrobe and a sash window.
Continue up a floor to the second double room with a double bed, a chest of drawers, a bedside table and a TV. Next door to this room there is a second child’s bedroom with a modern single bed, a bedside table and a wardrobe. Upon request, 2 additional single mattresses can be provided in each of the children's rooms. The family bathroom has soft purple tiling, a shower extension over the bath tub, a sink and a loo.
There’s also a balcony off the landing on this top floor – a lovely spot to watch the sun go down.
This contemporary and stylish family home would make an excellent base for a family looking to stay in an upmarket area of London. The local neighbourhood of Fulham has lots of fine dining restaurants, gastropubs, bars and boutique shops. Nearby Parson's Green has many more eateries and shops to explore and a traditional pub called The White Horse, nicknamed ‘the Sloaney Pony’ next to the Green which is very popular. There is also a bustling street market selling fruit, vegetables and fish nearby.
Many families choose this neighbourhood as there is plenty to do and you are still within easy reach of fashionable Chelsea and Kensington or a short tube ride from central London. Eel Brook Common is only a stroll away for a picnic or walk with the children. Bishop’s Park is just a short taxi or bus ride away too and is well worth a visit. It has an adventure playground & lake which runs along the banks of the River Thames. The adjoining historic Fulham Palace & gardens, was once country home to the Bishops of London and hosts events throughout the year.
You can walk to the King’s Road in 3 minutes and amble your way East along this famous street checking out the designer stores, upmarket bars and fine dining restaurants.
Your nearest tube station is Fulham Broadway, only a 4 minute walk away, which is on the District Line. South Kensington for the V&A, the Natural History and the Science Museums as well as designer shops, is only an 8 minute journey and Oxford Street for shopping is 20 minutes away.
Head to Knightsbridge for the famous Harrods and Harvey Nichols department stores. The West End (Leicester Square) is only a 25 minute journey from Fulham Broadway, and you are also only a 10/12 minute walk from Imperial Wharf overground rail station and Chelsea Harbour with more high-end restaurants and bars.
Fulham is a green and affluent suburb within close reach of many famously extravagant places such as Chelsea and Kensington too. There are ample parks and open spaces such as Fulham Palace Gardens, Eel Brook Common and Parsons Green which are the largest, and where you’ll often see runners, cyclists and families picnicking in the summer months.
Most of the residential roads in Fulham are lined with trees and the houses are often painted in different pastel shades. Fulham Palace is a beautiful medieval building and offers a delightful Tudor courtyard, an 18th century garden hosting contemporary sculptures and a museum which houses the Palace's history.
You are rarely far from a decent gastro pub with favourites The White Horse – affectionately known as ‘the Sloaney Pony’ - and Aragon House both close by in Parsons Green. The corner of Lillie Road by Munster Road hosts a number of boutique antique shops, and has been dubbed ‘Munster Village’ after the Victorian and Edwardian houses situated along its pretty streets. There are a number of organic food shops, coffee bars and restaurants which make the area very appealing to professionals, couples and families looking for a slightly quieter stay, without compromising on style or local amenities.
Nearby New Kings Road also boasts some exclusive interior design shops and galleries, particularly as it begins to merge with the Kings Road towards Chelsea. Fulham is also a great area for sports lovers who can enjoy a variety of Premier League venues with Fulham Football Club, Chelsea Football Club and Queens Park Rangers all based in the neighborhood.
