This lovely townhouse is spacious and set on a quiet residential street, just over a 5 minute walk to Regent's Park. You're just a short bus/tube ride into Oxford Street, or about a 25 minute walk. Euston / King's Cross stations are 1/2 stops away.
On entering this warm and comfortable family home, the traditional hallway leads to a large open-plan main kitchen and dining area spanning the length of the house. The modern kitchen is nicely decorated with blue cupboards and the dining table comfortably seats 8. There are views over the sunny garden and the front of the house at each end.
At the end of the hallway is a library come study. Spacious, and with a useful desk and an iron spiral staircase to the garden below, this room would be useful for finishing off some work before going for a walk around Regent's Park just around the corner.
Down the stairs from the main hallway is the lower ground level of the house. With a double sofa bed and a medium sized kitchen and bathroom at one end, the living area in the centre and the simple double bedroom at the the other end, this could essentially be used as a self-contained flat. So, perfect for a nanny or teenager. The main exit to the long garden is also on this level. The garden contains a seating area with table and chairs - a lovely spot for some al fresco dining.
Moving up to the first floor of the house, is the sitting room, which is tastefully decorated with a couch and a couple of armchairs. There is a piano room with a comprehensive library towards the back of this room.
The second floor is home to the master bedroom with a king-sized bed and an en suite bathroom. The bathroom is stunning with traditional fittings and a classic sink and bath.
On the top floor of the house the two single rooms are very spacious and brightly decorated. One room has a trundle bed, which pulls out and can accommodate 2 guests. The bathroom on this floor serves these two bedrooms and also has traditional bathroom fittings. The back bedroom also has a wonderful view over the garden.
The property is well situated within 5 minutes walk of Camden Town and Mornington Crescent Underground stations (Northern Line) which can easily be used to reach large National Rail stations like Euston and King’s Cross if you're heading further afield. King's Cross is connected on most of the tube lines (Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria, Hammersmith & City, Circle and Metropolitan) and so you can reach most of central London within 20 minutes.
It won’t take long to stroll to Regents Park or Primrose Hill , where there are brilliant views of the surrounding areas of London. Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and Leicester Square can all be reached within 20 minutes on the Underground and it is also easy to get to the shopping districts of Oxford Street, Regent Street and Knightsbridge in just a few stops (Northern and Central lines).
This is a spacious and comfortable property. It will make a superb temporary home to a family or a group of adults alike, and with it being so well located near parks and transport, there are lots of options to explore!
Please note, this house has a resident cat. If you would prefer, we can ask the owners if they could relocate him but this would be subject to availability. It is very likely that, for the summer of 2013, the cat will not be at home.
Bordering Regent’s Park, Camden Town in northwest London is best known for its market and perhaps more recently the late great Amy Winehouse.
It became an important location during the early development of the railways and is located on the London canal network. In 1816, the Regent's Canal was built through the area creating a lock around which Camden Lock Village was developed. Today it is home to the internationally renowned Camden Market where you are sure to find something for the whole family. Amongst the bustling clothes, crafts and jewellery stands, there are some really unique pubs and bars offering nightly live music and DJs. The Lockside Lounge on the water’s edge is a popular spot, as are the Barfly and Proud Camden music venues on Chalk Farm road on the west side of the district. You can enjoy fresh food from every continent whilst sitting astride a motorbike on the canal’s edge, eating and watching the ducks swim by.
This area is renowned for its alternative culture although there are many period properties to enjoy a traditional style of home, from Georgian and early Victorian townhouses to modern apartments and mews homes on cobbled streets, making this an area full of character which will appeal to everyone. Many townhouses in Camden are over three or even four floors so there’s plenty of space for the whole family to relax.
