Our Little Ranch Retreat
We invite you to stay at our warm and welcoming little ranch retreat. Our home has travertine tile and hardwood flooring throughout. Antique items decorate most every room. Our home comfortably sleeps 6 to 8 guests.
We have 3 spacious bedrooms with ample pillows, down comforters and extra blankets for each bed. In addition to the large beds, there are also a full-sized pull out sofa bed and twin-sized rollaway bed.
There are 2 full baths equipped with thick absorbent towels and basic toiletries. The master bath has a large custom built shower and a separate roomy jetted tub. The other bath features a claw foot tub with a one of a kind overhead shower.
In the main room you can sink yourself into the over-sized leather couch, love seat or chair for watching television, socializing or to simply relax at the end of the day’s adventure. The den has a comfortable place to sit and enjoy our small library of horse related reading material. There are many board games and toys to entertain all ages as well.
Our fully stocked kitchen has everything you need. Bring your groceries for preparing simple snacks to cooking gourmet meals. The kitchen and dining area are open to each other making it a perfect place for family and friends to gather.
Our horses, which are located on the property, are an absolute plus. They’re eager to take carrots from you and to make you smile.
We have staggering sunrises and sunsets most everyday. Stars appear in numbers beyond belief in the crisp clear night air as the Grand Canyon area has some of the darkest skies in the world.
It’s always fun to roast marshmallows while sitting around the fire ring located outside and taking in the unobstructed mountain views. Relax under the large 700 square foot patio / awning which is equipped with an outdoor kitchen and barbeque grill.
Our little retreat is peacefully secluded from the hustle and bustle yet it is conveniently located about 30 minutes from the south rim entrance to the Grand Canyon. Enjoy the amazing Grand Canyon at the viewpoints of the rim. Hike a trail, take a river trip or view the wonderment of her beauty by air tour. We are also located about 30 minutes from the historic City of Williams where you can shop its unique stores and visit local attractions such as Bearizona.
Come visit us for your vacation or getaway. A positive guest experience is truly a passion of ours so we know you will certainly enjoy your stay.
Since 1994, Bob and I have made the Grand Canyon area our home and have raised our three boys in this wonderful location of Arizona.
Maxine purchased this house in 2003
This unique home offers a perfect get away. Our attention and care went into decorating every room.
Affectionate horses located on property. Unobstructed views of the San Francisco Peaks mountain range. Have outdoor burn ring / camp fire. Cooking facilities and barbeque on the huge deck.
A lovely, warm home, filled with anything a traveller might need. This home was lovingly decorated and carefully stocked for any contingency, whether that be for cooking, entertaining (guitar, telescope, games, etc.) or just little items that may have been forgotten (shampoo, bath gels). There was even a bowl full of fresh carrots for the three sweet horses that are spending their retirement on the property! We loved staying at Our Little Ranch Retreat and had the most wonderful time! We can't recommend it enough and our time there passed all to quickly. Five stars!
My family had a wonderful time at this beautiful home when we were visiting the Grand Canyon. We loved how peaceful it was, and the full kitchen was a life-saver for travelers with food allergies!
We stayed two nights at this desert home when we visited the Grand Canyon. The party was my husband and myself (60's) and our two daughters (20's) and their boyfriends (30's). The six of us were very comfortable, and the house was exactly as described. The house and kitchen were fully equipped with everything we needed - even a crock pot. We are foodies and we enjoyed cooking both nights, then being able to sit beside the fire (firewood supplied) after and play Trivial Pursuit.
The views are stunning, especially in the morning looking out the windows from the breakfast table.
On the way to the Grand Canyon we passed those high priced hotels, and we were so happy to be able to come home to this nice house instead of being stuck in three separate rooms
And yes, we did bring extra carrots for the horses. Everyone enjoyed feeding these gentle friends, who came to the fence for a treat without urging.
This was a wonderful house and I would highly recommend it to a family with children - grown or otherwise.
Don't let pulling down the dirt road fool you, while the neighbors may need a lesson in junk removal, and the cows may give you the evil eye, being in a remote and quiet home with the view is well worth it.
Property and home are fantastic. Just far enough from town and the park to let you enjoy some peace while still having fast access to food, shops and the Canyon. Max has thought of everything needed to make staying there feel like home!
The couches are incredibly comfortable and just the right place to crash and watch the tv after a long day in the park.
Bed and bathroom are clean and very up to date. The whole home has a unique feel to it mixing antique and modern necessity and design.
But more than anything- the basket with water, the water cooler, grills, bubble bath, and all the other little things provided made staying here worth every penny over a hotel.
We stayed in this place for two days and it was awesome! Place was super clean and organized, very comfortable, we felt home. Not far from the Grand Canyon park, or the Bearizona. Calm place, perfect to run away from the crazy city life (yeah! we live in Chicago). They don't have wifi though, which for one side was good spend time with family without internet... I recommend it to everyone!
This home has even more to offer than meets the eye. First of all, there are 3 sweet horses with their own personalities that you can feed and are very friendly, particularly when you feed them COB or carrots :) The view is wide and never ending and you can see the beautiful San Fransisco Peaks from there, along with an amazing sunset. After the sun sets, the night sky is indescribable. I kept going to bed and getting back up only to go back out and take in the stars again. On a clear night, you can see every star in the sky, and it is as if you can reach out and touch them. There are grills outside, a beautiful porch, and a fire pit with a huge wood pile ready to go! Inside, the home is filled with antiques and comfort everywhere. The kitchen has everything you need and more. I took bubble baths in the lion claw bathtub every night. You will not want for anything if you stay here, I promise. The only difficulty I'm having is giving this home such rave reviews because I am definitely going back and I want it to be available to me any time I'd like! :) But you have definitely got to experience this place. And oh yea, the Grand Canyon is right up the road!
P.S. The owners, Max & Bob, are sweet & friendly and love to share interesting factoids if you inquire. and believe me, you will!
30 minutes south of the majestic Grand Canyon which provides numerous activities. 30 minutes north of the historic City of Williams for shopping and dining. Approx 1 1/2 hours away from the red rocks of Sedona for a memorable day trip.
