About Josephine Rose

As a family with three children (now grown) my husband & I have rented holiday properties in Europe for some years and we know how important it is to provide the right level of comfort and practical facilities to make a holiday fun, enjoyable and memorable

Josephine Rose purchased this house in 1999

Why Josephine Rose chose Redbridge

My sister Elaine & I own the property which was originally our parents home. We have extensively refurbished, redecorated and refitted the property to accommodate up to 15 guests (13 adults plus two babies or young children) with a high level of comfort and facilities including quality bedding, linens and towels.

What makes this house unique

The house is set in one of the best streets in the area where it is quiet and has nice neighbors but very close to all local amenities. There is a large supermarket just 300 metres away on the next block - opposite the park with a children's playground. A five minute walk takes you to the local High Street with many shops, banks, restaurants and leisure facilities including swimming, tennis and a gym. The bus stop is just 150 metres and the house is also in easy walking distance to two Central Line tube stations. It is just an 11 minute journey to Stratford where you will find Europe's largest shopping mall and 30 minutes into the center for all of London's attractions, museums, shopping, theaters and restaurants.

Perfect little family holiday home!

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautifully furnished and had everything anyone could ask for. I was quite amazed at how much thought and attention to detail the landlord had put into the house. Needless to say, the atmosphere inside as well as in the garden out back is quiet and relaxing. The sunny weather while we were staying also helped!

The manager was very accessible and friendly. He showed us around the house when we arrived and explained where everything was including suggestions of the nearest restaurants he and his wife frequented. He checked in on us 2 days into our stay to see if we had any problems and if there was anything we needed help with.

I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing holiday in a clean, well maintained house in East London. Families with children would also enjoy the house as there are lots of games and playthings for children to enjoy including a nice little garden for outdoor games.

Owner's Response: We thank our guests for their kind comments but it is the first time our spacious four bedroom property has been called "little" ! The house has approx 2000 sq ft (185 sq m) of living space and sits on a plot measuring 3200 sq ft (297 sq m). It is certainly large enough to accommodate up to 15 guests.

A Magical Memory Maker!

  • 5 of 5

This home is a splendid getaway for large families, or even a few families. We visited London with friends and comfortably slept 11. Everything is exactly as shown, neat and tidy! The welcome snacks and tea were a nice touch. It is a bit of a train ride from central London, but a nice, quiet escape at the end of a busy day.

There are food delivery services available and a Tesco supermarket just a quick walk away.

We will definitely stay here again if we travel to London!

Cozy, clean, organised and beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We were impressed from the start on how organised, clean and beautifully decorated the house was.

The house has everything for your daily needs. Everything is new and works perfectly. The rooms are cosy, the toilets all very clean, water is very warm on the showers and sinks and the heating works perfectly.

The attention from the owners was great providing us with tips and answering queries we had. Phil and Jo made themselves very available for us.

The house's location is also very good. Buses stop really close to it and the nearest underground station is only a few minutes away. There are supermarkets nearby and places to eat all around. The neighbourhood is also lovely.

I honestly cannot think of one negative thing to say about our stay!

PERFECT

  • 5 of 5

Everything is as described.

The property is clean, comfortable,. warm and spacious for the ten of us.

The hosts are the most attentive ones I have ever met.

Even if it could seem the house is far from the city centre, you can reach it by bus and tube in about 40 minutes very comfortably.

We think it is the perfect place for large groups and with no doubts, in case we travell to London again, we will contact Philip for sure.

This house has been one of the reasons to make our holidays perfect, so take it into account and feel free to ask the hosts whatever you want to know, they are so kind.

Marvellous London home

  • 5 of 5

Our family (from 8 to 80 years) had a great week - the house was spotlessly clean and was exactly as described - or even better! The owners were extremely helpful and their hospitality exceeded all our expectations.

I must admit, that at first I was wondering if a house in zone 4 of London underground might be too far away from the city center. - No need to worry. As central line trains come every 1-3 minutes you get to anywhere in the center within 45 minutes.

We could not have chosen any better home away from home. Many thanks to Josephine an Elaine!

Great Vacation House!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of seven ages 11 - 71 spent a delightful week at 10 Hatley Avenue. The house was spotlessly clean and the bedrooms were beautifully decorated with excellent linens - sheets and towels. The kitchen was very well appointed with first class utensils from pots and pans, juicer, matching china and silverware, coffee makers, etc. Our hosts were very thoughtful and welcomed us with a fridge stocked with milk, eggs and fruit. We were delighted to find a complete spice cupboard with other essentials for cooking including olive oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and almost anything else we might require for food preparation. We ate most of our meals out on the spacious and well furnished patio. Our grandchildren enjoyed playing out on the back lawn.

A major grocery store was a quick ten minute walk and the underground station was a twenty minute walk (although there was a regular bus going from the station to the house).

We heartily recommend 10 Hatley Ave. as a base for exploring greater London.
