Hello, thanks for viewing our home! We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage sons who are very active. They like to swim, fish, boat, and ski, horseback ride, etc. They also like to play pool, air hockey, ping pong, shuffle board, basketball, and tennis. Almost any activity you like, is right here in Masthope, so our boys are never bored. We like to get away to relax and there is ample opportnity to relax as well. The lodge offers beautiful views of the mountains while sitting in a rocking chair or reading a book by the pool.
M and K Clark purchased this chateau / country house in 2011
We selected this property because it is close to the lodge. Our boys quickly walk up to the lodge at anytime. When they wake up in the morning, they go to the lodge to grab a donut for breakfast or later in the day for a game of pool. There are a lot of activities at the lodge including craft fairs and holiday parties not to mention Bingo on most Saturdays. Our home is close enough to the lodge to make it accessible, but far enough to enjoy the peacefulness the mountains have to offer. We also use our home personally, so you know you are getting a clean and intimate property perfectly balanced with a warm and comfortable feel. We love it here because everyone can enjoy their vacation, in their own way!
We love our home because of the large open living space that we can all gather with plenty of seating and family time. You can also opt to sit in the quiet spaces on the screened in porch or the loft. There is a large treehouse with slide for the kids. The skylights and windows produce a feeling of being part of the natural surroundings. During the winter, our deck views the mountain skyline and during the summer and fall the leaves complete a beautiful private setting.
This house was very roomy and had many amenities to fit our needs. It is a big house with lots of space in the kitchen to cook, a convenient washer/dryer, and comfortable living area. It even has a nice size yard for the kids to play. We have a new baby so we needed a place where there was plenty to do close by and this house was within walking distance to the pool!
We stayed at this house over the 4th of the July Weekend. The house was plenty big for our 6 adults and 4 kids and had everything we needed! The large deck, screened in porch, and backyard offered us many different areas to relax. The kids loved the tree-house in the backyard, as well as sitting around the fire-pit roasting marshmallows. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!
My family stayed at this property for the Christmas break. The house was clean, the amenities were close, and the owners were hospitable! Our ski getaway was everything we expected! The community has a great New Year's eve celebration with a band, and DJ, that my entire family enjoyed thoroughly. The ski slopes were soo much fun. The only complaint is that we were not able to stay longer. Thanks for everything, we'll be back!
My wife and I enjoyed the house and location tremendously. Water pressure was a bit low and the extra charge for the community badges was a bit much given the briefness of our stay. But the house was warm, clean, with great mattresses and a very beautiful and quiet neighborhood.
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. It was so relaxing! The home is clean and well maintained. There was plenty of room for the five of us. The owners were very pleasant and very helpful. We had a great vacation!
I have been renting in Masthope for years and I can honestly say that this was our favorite. The house has a large deck, screened in porch and air conditioning which made our stay very comfortable. It was also within a short walk of the lodge and pool. The owners were fantastic and we will definitely rent again hopefully during ski season.
We know Masthope pretty well, stayed there several times during all seasons. The definition – 4-season community – is completely justified. There are plenty of things to do year round. And lodge area – 5 minutes walking distance from the house – is full of fun. We stayed in the house during hot July 2013, on Independence Day weekend. In addition to all entertainments mentioned in the reviews, we watched remarkable fireworks; there were other holiday events in the community. In the house we found some good games for adults and the kid. The house was very clean, had spacious deck and living room/diner/kitchen on the first floor. The bedrooms were on the smaller side, but sufficient for five of us – 2 couples and a kid. On the downside – our bedroom’s closet didn’t have rod and there were just 2 hangers, so we kept our cloth in drawers all the time. Some words of precaution – good we asked – you need to bring your lining when staying in the house. What we didn’t ask, and it was not clear from the listing: there is no Internet access in the house, only public Wi-Fi in the lodge. Frankly, we wouldn’t rent the house if knew in advance. The TV programming was very limited; maybe we were watching just free channels? Also, you might need to know that air conditioning is not central – one unit is in the kitchen, and another in kids’ bedroom. We used fan to push the cooler air from living area to 1st floor bedroom. Our daughter used same trick in their bedroom upstairs. Also, my wife providently brought toilet paper, soap and paper towels. Otherwise we’d stay on mercy of lodge facilities. Nevertheless, all in all we had very good time in the house. The owner was very responsive, and kindly allowed us late check out.
