A place with a view

My husband and I stayed in this cottage for the month of March, 2012, and felt that we had made a good choice for us. The cottage was bright, comfortable and spacious, though not luxurious by any means. The great luxury was the fantastic view of Dona Bay! We had fabulous weather, and spent many hours on the shaded porch/deck watching the water, birds, boaters,etc. We even saw manatees one evening. My husband and son-in-law spent time fishing off the dock, and had some success. We used the kayaks to explore Dona Bay, and the bikes to ride the Legacy Trail and the Venice trail. It was a short drive to any of three beaches: Nokomis, Venice, or Casperson (for shark's teeth collecting). From this location, it was a short drive north or south to many interesting day trips, such as to Fort Myers Beach, Gasparilla Island, and Longboat Key (among many others you could choose to do). There are also several state parks close by, such as Oscar Scherer and Myakka River. We had a couple of minor problems at the beginning of our stay, but Mark quickly responded and took care of it. I would certainly recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing vacation.
