Perfect family Spot in Aruba!
After an intensive search of the internet, we came across this property and were able to book it for a Christmas family get-away. Lorraine (the owner) was especially prompt and helpful in making our first trip to Aruba an amazing one! We are a family of five (three boys-ages 16, 13, and 6) and were looking for a home we could stay in, spread out, and cook some of our own meals. This home was perfect! It is located in a quaint neighborhood, and the neighbors (and property manager) were very friendly. Definitely compared to other properties, the value of this property can't be beat. Having a full kitchen and washer and dryer were a necessity for our family, and having the outdoor pool as a diversion (especially for our youngest son) was an added bonus. This property may not have been the fanciest, but it was clean and offered all the amenities a family would need. We particularly enjoyed staying among the local people and away from the hustle and bustle of the strip areas. We felt very safe in this neighborhood, and overall it was very quiet (except for the rooster who woke us up some mornings, which we actually found very quaint!) I would highly recommend a jeep rental if you are at all interested in touring the island. Some of the most amazing sites (the Natural Pool and the eastern side of the island) are really not accessible without a jeep, or unless you are on a guided tour. We went with More 4 Less jeep rental. They were very friendly and easy to book with. Every day we pretty much got in our jeep and left for the day on a new adventure. Our trip to the Natural Pool was especially memorable- other than a family from Maryland and a couple from DC, we had the entire pool to ourselves for almost 3 hours! The rocky trip was so worth it, and a must see if you can do it. We also really enjoyed Baby beach at the southern point of the island, and the food at Big Mama's Grille.. Perfect leisurely family day! Malmok Beach offers some great snorkeling- not crowded and lots of fish in the water, especially good for novice snorkelers; Our older boys really enjoyed that. We opted to grocery shop and eat some of our meals at the house so we could have a few special family dinners out. Do not miss Pinchos Grille or Beaches (make sure you dine on the sand). We had very good meals at both restaurants- upscale but worth the experience and a special Christmas Eve memory for our family. We definitely hope to get back to Aruba and stay at Lorraine's again..we loved it!
