About Hilary Nicholson
This house was originally built in the 1950's by my father for my grandmother. My grandmother chose this site because of the lovely woods, nearby streams and a 150 year old white oak tree that now stands guard in the garden. I later expanded the house and added an upstairs for my children and myself when I used the house for weekends in the 1990's.
Why Hilary Nicholson chose Litchfield
Proceeds from your rental will assist the owners to support the Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy (LRWC) and allow for the continued conservation of wetland habitat and rare endangered waterfowl. LRWC is one of the pre-eminent facilities for breeding rare and endangered waterfowl in the world. Private tours are available for visiting guests who become members of LRWC. Public tours are always available. Checkout the Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy
What makes this house unique
The property is very peaceful. No cars or sirens can be heard. Birds abound in the woods and across the dirt road that passes by the house are duckponds filled with a variety of rare species. When the wind blows just so. you can sometimes hear a Trumpeter Swan call.........
