Ideal location for our introduction to beautiful Barcelona
Our family of four arrived from Madrid and were delighted that the apartment is in a pedestrian-only section. The taxi can take you to Plaza de Palau, and it's just a few yards to the little square of the apartment. Our daughters (in their early 20's) were comfortable in the twin bedroom, and my husband and I had room for our things as well----luggage stores nicely in the entryway. Very handy to have the spacious half-bath, and the owner supplies very nice amenities for your stay, as well as a bottle of wine, chocolates, and fruit. We bought breakfast items, but ate out for other meals. It's a matter of stepping outside the door to find delicious food, and there is excellent shopping in all the little streets of El Born. The apartment is close to the Picasso Museum, which is on a lovely little street, and is also close to Port Vell, Las Ramblas, etc. The only time we took a taxi was to Parc Guell and to La Sagrada Familia. Barcelona is a gorgeous city, rich in history and art, and the people are very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely stay in this apartment again, and my husband and I do hope to return to Barcelona. Be sure to go to Cal Pep---best to book ahead, and Diana, the excellent property manager, can do this for you. Alternatively, be sure to get in the line for lunch, by 12:45---they open at noon and it fills up fast! We were lucky to get a table in the back room one night----don't miss this very special, tiny restaurant, practically next door to the apartment. Diana is wonderful to work with in planning your trip, and Rachel will greet you and check you out. The entire process is very well done, and we always stay in apartments when we travel in Europe. This was one of the best. Highly recommended!
