Enjoy this cozy, but spacious, retreat with vast views of forested hills and historic Sandy river right outside your windows and doorstep. You'll be amazed by the sounds and smells of the outdoors, and will be awed by how different the river can look from day to day in course, flow, level and color.
The surrounding area offers activities year round for the outdoor enthusiasts, vacationers, and locals looking to get away for the weekend. Whether winter or summer, you're sure to find this cabin the perfect getaway where you can leave your troubles behind you, while still feeling like it's your home away from home.
While feeling the privacy and seclusion of a wilderness retreat, you'll have available to you many amenities. You'll have cable and WiFi available to allow for any needed connection to the real world as you relax and enjoy this cozy cabin while being warmed by the gas fireplace/stove.
This cabin is different than most in the sense that it is very bright and fresh. It's very family friendly, and can sleep up to 6 with the convertible sofa sleeper. People of all ages will be mesmerized by the beauty of the wilderness and river, and can enjoy both exploring the river and surroundings as well as access trails right outside the cabin.
With thriving area towns a very short distance from the cabin, you'll have plenty of choices for eating out or to stock up on supplies and enjoy your meal at the cabin.
We're a couple of accountants with two little girls that enjoy getting away from our busy urban life. We've searched for the perfect place for quite a while and finally found it!
Steve and Monika purchased this cottage in 2013
This area is beautiful and as interesting in the summer as it is in the winter months. We wanted a place that's a short drive from where we live. Being an hour away from Portland this drive is a breeze whether you're getting here Friday evening or heading straight to work on Monday morning. After a pretty long search we knew right away that this cabin/cottage was different from anything else that we had looked at.
The location is amazing, right on the river, with plenty of space around the house for kids to play. Easy to access from the road, but private enough. The house feels fresh and bright, not like some of the dark and moist cabins we looked at during our search.
Perfect accommodations for the kiddos. With windows in each room making to most of lovely Sandy river views.
We enjoyed to stay in this cabin. Moreover, Monica and Steve took care about a lot of small items that travelers feel as at home.
Our family had a wonderful experience at the cabin. This home really has enough to keep everyone busy and happy. Internet for the teenagers ( and parents!), toys for the little ones, even movies and games for some good quality family time. Our family of 5 had enough room to enjoy being together or find some privacy. The cabin is clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated. We can't wait until our next visit to the cabin.
This was the perfect spot for a winter get away for two adults and two kids. We were close enough to everything that it was not a worry getting any where. The property was absolutely beautiful and the house was exactly as described. The sights and smells were a perfect greeting for two parents looking for a relaxing get away. We were able to pull up and start unloading quite easily which allowed us to feel right at home very quickly. In addition to this the kids settled right in, which made it much easier. The length of our stay made it easier to cook in the kitchen, which was very usable, as well as get used to every aspect of the cabin. The kids couldn't wait to come back, which is a recommendation we don't hear very often.
If you're looking for a nice little bungalow to get away to, or a comfortable cabin for a week or so, this is the place to stay.
The location of this cabin can't be beat, the river is steps from your back door and although there are houses nearby it has a feeling of seclusion. The cabin is as shown in photos. I loved the claw foot tub and gas stove. The owners where quick and kind in their communication. The only down side is the very small fridge and the cleaning fee feels significant if like us you are only staying two nights. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a retreat, it was wonderful!
This house is located right on the Sandy River. Although this house feels away from it all, it is close to every activity you might want to do while in Oregon. It was an awesome respite from the rain and cool weather. Everything was as it was described in the listing. Everything was clean and very organized. I would recommend this property to all of my friends and relatives. If you go, be sure to try out Joe's Donuts in Sandy, OR.
