Kauai Valley View Vacation Rental is a 600 square foot guest apartment located on the bottom floor of a three-story, concrete block home on the upper slopes of Kalaheo. With a private entrance, deck, and parking, its' locale at the end of a private residential drive assures a unique Kauai experience. We have 2 rentals here on site with the other being VRBO# 410735
The spectacular natural beauty of Kauai is well known to travelers seeking a destination on United States soil with lots of outdoor activities, low population density and modern conveniences. The fresh air here is some of the purest on the planet. Kauai’s wonderfully clean fresh water in Kalaheo comes from wells dug deep into the islands interior. Enjoy it right from the tap as the locals do.
One of the best little neighborhood walks on the island starts right outside your doorsteps. Round-trip is about 3/4 mile of flat, beautiful, one lane walking that attracts discriminating island residents from surrounding areas as well. Observe the local owl (Pueo in Hawaiian) surveying the valley at sunrise/sunset and the flocks of introduced parrots moving about. One of the areas favorite song birds, the Shama Thrush, is prevalent in the valley.

Beautiful views, friendly neighborhood and close to the beach.
Cool fresh mountain breezes to start your day.
Thanks for sharing your home and your vegetables. A special thanks for your patience with two very, very tired travelers at almost midnight. This has been a great place to stay and, with some regrets, we move on to the north shore. We would stay again if we come back to Kauai. Thanks for everything, L&C
Kauai Valley View is centrally located to all areas of the south shore of Kauai. That means short drives to/from Lihue Airport, Poipu, Port Allen (where our scuba charter docked), and Waimea Canyon/Koke'e State Park. It is a longer drive to see the east and north sites, but we did go to the end of the road at Ke'e Beach one day (50 miles one way). It's not a very big island, and the roads are good, so really, no worries.
As central as it is, it's still off -- way off -- the beaten track. From the main road, Kaumuali'i Highway, it's almost a mile straight uphill on a quiet residential cul-de-sac. So the location is the ultimate in peaceful. The view is great, with some ocean on display, beautiful landscaping, fine sunsets, and a nice mini-valley just below the apartment's lanai, where the owner's horses roam.
There's plenty of room to spread out: a large living/dining room, a galley kitchen, bedroom with queen bed, and bath with stall shower. Wi-fi was stable all the time we were there. The kitchen was nicely equipped with utensils and consumables (spices, cleaning supplies, paper products, wraps), and Debbie even gave us some ground coffee to get us started. There is no stove, but there is a toaster oven and microwave.
The place was clean and functional. Ken and Debbie, who live on the main floor (above), were usually around and very helpful when asked. If you're scuba-diving, you'll love the gear-rinsing and -hanging facility they've rigged up.
Bottom line: we had a wonderful time there and would do it again, or recommend you do it (you, whoever is reading this).
Ken & Debbie,
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home. The breathtaking views of the valley and the walks around the area were wonderful! We really appreciate you for providing all the toiletries and items needed to make our stay so comfortable. This was unexpected and very thoughtful of you. Our stay at your place has been one of our best on Kauai. We will definitely have you on our agenda for our next vacation to Kauai! Thank you again. J&Y M, Brooklyn, NY
Thanks Ken & Debbie for making us feel welcome without at all interferring with our privacy. The well appointed accomodations although a suite in your home made us feel nicely isolated in what Jan referred to as a tree house. We looked straight out to tree branches that were teaming with all kinds of exotic birds.
It took a bit of getting used to having all the windows opened and the trade winds gently blowing through, the crowing roosters and barking dogs quickly got tuned out when the songs of so many birds took over. I still couldn't tell the difference between the wind rustling the trees or the sound of rain but it was all good. Walks around the bowl were a treat. This accomodation is close enough to get to the beach or shopping whenever you want but far enough away to provide peace and relaxation I would highly recommend this VRBO to any family or friends.
Captain Andy's sunset dinner cruise was a highlight. The food and service was over the top. I would recommend booking directly with Captain Andy's in Port Allen. What ever you do don't book through Hawaii Discounts. They screwed up our booking date and took no responsibility for it. Even though it wasn't Captain Andy's fault they fixed it and made feel like very important clients. If you want to experience a farmers market go to the one in Koloa Mondays at noon at Ann Knudsen Park. Got a beautiful plumeria lei for Jan for $3.00. How do they do it?

The pictures in this listing do not do it justice! It's a sweet little private apt in a lovely setting. The accommodations and amenities are more than you could ask for and the views are icing on the cake. It was clean and fully stocked. I loved that the owners recycle and compost. I was able to recycle, just as I do at home. It's a good location for accessing most of the island I loved my stay there and hope to return.
