BEAUTIFUL APARTMENT IN THE HEART OF HISTORIC KEW GARDENS!

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Richmond & Kew - Kew Gardens Village Apartment

1 Bedroom apartment, Sleeps 4

Fantastic 1 bedroom apartment on a quiet street in Kew. This is a Victorian one bedroom property in central Kew Gardens completely modernised in 2013 to the highest standard.

It is full of original features with antique marble fireplaces in both the sitting room and the bedroom. The modern kitchen/breakfast room has granite work surfaces and french doors opening onto a small private outdoor area. The walk-in wet room is tiled in Italian stone and has underfloor heating.

Overall it is a first class property in the centre of Kew with two grocery stores (one of which also bakes its own bread and has the best fresh baked pain au chocolat in Kew!), a cafe and restaurants within a two minute walk.

Transport

The property is a five minute walk from Kew Gardens tube station and Kew Gardens British Rail overland train station. Immediately outside the property is a bus stop which will take you to Richmond in 5 minutes, Chiswick in 10 minutes or Hammersmith in 20 minutes.

Nearby

Within a 5 minute walk is the Victoria Gate entrance to Kew Botanical Gardens, UNESCO world heritage site.

Kew Gardens Village is also a five minute walk where you will find a StarBucks, The Glass House (a MIchelin starred restaurant), and a Tesco supermarket, and various smaller cafes, tea shops, restaurants and gift shops.

Recommended restaurants within a 10 minute walk include the following;

RaRa's (2 minute walk): Right over the road is RaRa's - delicious outstanding Nepalese restaurant in a smart modern restaurant - or you can order food to take away. (www.rara-kew.co.uk)

Montien (4 minute walk) a small privately owned Thai restaurant

The Glass House (5 minute walk) a outstanding fine dining Michelin starred restaurant (www.glasshouserestaurant.co.uk)

Ma Cuisine (5 minutes) an authentic french bistro serving delicious food (www.macuisinebistrot.co.uk)

Pizza Express (5 minutes) good pizza restaurant or take-away (www.pizzaexpress.com/visit-a-restaurant/restaurant/kew)

Wine and Moussaka - a reasonably priced Greek restaurant

The Kew Grill - a delicious steak restaurant owned by the British TV Celebrity Chef Anthony Worrel Thompson (http://awtrestaurants.com/kew-grill)

Why Ailsa Williams chose Richmond & Kew

This property is a beautifully renovated flat, with lots of character, in a REALLY convenient location. The nearest shops and restaurants are a two minute walk away, Kew Parade which is a very cute, old fashioned shopping parade, containing over 30 shops, cafes and restaurants, is a five minute walk away.

Kew Gardens tube station and Overground station is a five minute walk which will you with Central London in 25 minutes or Covent Garden in 35 minutes.

The area of Kew Gardens is in West London and is regarded as one of the nicest, prettiest and most genteel.

There are plenty of tourist attractions nearby including: Kew Botanical Gardens, The National Archieves, Syon Park, Chiswick House and Park, The River Thames (you can walk along the tow path or take a boat ride along the river), Hampton Court Palace, Ham House (view the house or watch the Polo matches there in the summer) and Richmond Park the largest park in any European captial city.

Really lovely, large well-equipped flat

  • 5 out of 5
We were pleasantly surprised by how gorgeous the flat is. It is tasteful and decorated to a really high standard, and the rooms are large, especially the bedroom and sitting room and both the bed and sofa bed were really comfortable.

It has all of the mod cons we wanted; coffee maker, large tv, microwave etc, and a great walk in shower. My sons slept on the sofa bed and slept soundly - we had the bedroom and loved the sleigh bed - so comfortable.

We loved Kew, the flat is right in the centre of Kew, literally a minutes walk to the nearest shops and restaurants and seven minutes to the Royal Botanical Gardens. Great cafes and restaurants nearby, we recommend RaRa's indian restaurant and The Glass House - both excellent restaurants.

All in all a really great week in Kew and the owners were very, very helpful and charming. We'll be back

Great vacations in London

  • 4 out of 5
We (family of 4) spent 2 weeks holiday over Christmas and New Year in London- one of our best. Appartment is comfortable, well maintained and offers everything you may need. Kitchen is good-we have had our Christmas day and New Year day roast done there! The bedroom is very comfortable with nice bed which we appreciated after spending long shopping and sightseeing days out in London. The house is well located for visiting London and in a safe area. For those arriving with car (as with us). There is easy access from M 25 and is great for exploring counties west of London. Windsor is just 25 minutes drive via M4 (you drive out of London on empty road while everybody else tries to get into the city). There is a plenty of parking space just the opposite of the house. Chris, our landlord, was very helpful and although away for the Christmas he arranged everything so we could enjoy our stay without any worries. Booking, payment and communication went smoothly, without any problems. Shops for basics and couple of restaurants (Italian, Lebanese and fish & and chips) are just steps from the appartment. Tube station with nice pub Tap on the Line is just 5 minutes and the train takes you right to the heart of London. Overall there was nothing to complain about and we would recommend this appartment. Thank you, Chris, we had a great time in London and the Kews.

Beautiful, well kept, cosy apartment.

  • 5 out of 5
We definitely recommend this property! Our stay was very pleasant, being the apartment very clean and well kept, accurate in its description.

We know Kew Gardens very well having lived there for 5 years. Kew is beautifully set, a village within London, extremely safe. The tube station is just 5 minutes from the apartment taking you to Kings Rd in 20 minutes.

Christopher was great! Very professional good customer service.

This apartment will definitely be our pied a terre in London for the future.

Home from home in great location

  • 5 out of 5
Lovely apartment, spacious with all home comforts - highly recommended. Stayed here with 2 children as a base to see the London sites and so we'd have more space than being all stuck in a single hotel bedroom. 5minutes walk from Kew Gardens tube station which is the line that goes to Westminster for the Eye, Big Ben; South Kensington for V&A, natural history and science museums; andTower Hill for Tower of London so you get used to using tube without swopping lines before you get braver and venture further afield. Good local shops and lovely restaurants. Lovely area to wander round. Helpful welcoming hosts, would definitely stay here again.

Lovely flat in a super location!

  • 5 out of 5
We were very impressed with this property. It is beautifully presented with lovely furnishing. The bathroom is lovely, pack a shower cap for the shower if you don't want to get wet hair! The living room has a great, large flat screen TV and bedroom was very comfortable and the location is very quiet. The sofa bed very comfortably sleeps an adult of 6 foot. There is a great range of good quality books in the living room including some of my favourites. The kitchen is attractive, has good quality crockery and glasses and is nice to eat in. we didn't use the patio but it looked pretty and was private.
Christian , who manages the property , is very helpful and attentive throughout the booking process and met us outside on arrival.
The location is really good. We really enjoyed Kew as a neighbourhood and trying the numerous great restaurants across the road. It was really pleasant to come back from busy central London to much quieter leafy Kew. We really liked RaRa and the Lebanese restaurant and both are less than 100 steps away.
The nearest subway to Central London is about 5 minutes away and is attractive. The train journey into central London took about 25-35 minutes and is partly overland which means you can enjoy the view. We took the bus to Richmond on 2 nights and it stops about 50 metres from the flat so no tired feet.
We had to take our car and got a space no problem and Christian provided us with a guest permit.
I would recommend this flat to anyone going to London. It is suitable for short and longer lets and I hope to have the opportunity to stay again.
Thank you Christian for making our stay so enjoyable.

Convenient stay in Kew Gardens

  • 4 out of 5
We chose this flat because we were attending a wedding in Kew Gardens. We stayed 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The flat is on the ground floor with recent updating of kitchen and bathroom (with radiant floor heating, YES!) There is a nice patio/garden in back or relaxing with your favorite beverage. The location is in a residential area, but within a block of several very good restaurants (Lebanese, Indian, Italian, Chinese, all good). Closest pub (Kew Gardens Hoel) is a couple blocks away and is a gastro-pub too. The 391 bus stops close by for a convenient way to the shopping in Richmond. Also a short walk to the District Line Kew Gardens station for a half hour tube ride to the sights of central London. We were one of the first to stay here. The owner was very responsive and professional when we found a couple issues with the flat. Overall, a great stay and recommended without reservations.
