This villa complex is located in the hills surrounding Lucca, in a beautiful position. It is close to Pieve Santo Stefano, where there are two excellent restaurants. Lucca is worth enjoying simply for its medieval charm, but there are also a number of interesting sights to visit, as well as a great antique market held on the third Sunday of each month. The Duomo di San Martino and the Church of San Michele in Foro are both gorgeous examples of period architecture, while the Casa di Puccini, where the composer was born, has been transformed into a small museum in his honor. You can also climb the 130 foot Torre Guinigi, but on the other hand viewing the tree-topped tower from below might be just as enjoyable… and a lot less work! Also nearby is the town of Pisa, famed of course for its less-than-level tower, and along the coast to the north you'll run into Pietrasanta and the marble town of Carrara. Florence is also certainly within day trip distance, as there are frequent trains passing Lucca in that direction. Nearby Attractions: Pieve Santo Stefano (restaurants), Lucca (antique market every third Sunday, Duomo di San Martino, Church of San Michele in Foro, Casa di Puccini, Torre Guinigi), Pisa, Pietrasanta, Carrara, Florence. Florence: 85 km Carrara: 60 km Pietrasanta: 35 km Pisa: 30 km Lucca: 5 km Santo Stefano: 1 km
