Inside Plaza de la Independencia. Only 150 feet to Parque del Retiro´s main entrance. The so called “Golden Mile”, is at the beginning of Serrano Street where the most fashionable and elegant shops in Madrid are concentrated, right next to the Plaza. Short walking distance to El Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen museums, Cibeles, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Huertas, Malasaña, Chueca……all these within a mile walk. No need for car or public transportation. It’s located right in the heart of the city, very close to all major attractions and right between the most exclusive neighborhoods in Madrid City: Salamanca and Jeronimos. They both are clean, safe and quiet at night. Nightlife is just crossing Castellana Street. The area is lively during the day as there are many restaurants, cafés, terraces, bars and shops nearby.
This architecturally protected building is from 1880. It’s quite a restored antique under its original façade.
Has five big double bedrooms. Two include balconies which overview Plaza de la Independencia. While four of them include en-suite bathrooms, there´s a fifth complete bathroom that is used as a large guest WC too. There are also two more balconies to the Plaza at the main living room.
Kitchen and dining-room are 377 and 280 square feet respectively. They are fully equipped. The living room can comfortably accommodate twelve people. The kitchen has room for eight more, which makes it ideal for children or short meals.
All rooms have AC, even some bathrooms. It’s recently equipped and reformed - Feb 2013-to meet the highest comfort standards while respecting all the characters of a XIX century property. Keeps high ceilings, classic ceiling molding, big doors and windows, old wooden floors, hydraulic tile and of course, extensive open areas. Most ceilings are almost 13 feet tall.
The rest of the rooms are enormous too; living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms as well. Kitchen and bathrooms are brand new, custom built, king sized and finished with continuous polished micro-cement.
The flat is directly managed by the owner to ensure quality of service and to offer a competitive price for probably the best vacation flat in the city.
Late check out and early check in are available free when possible. If not they need to be set at 12am and 4pm respectively
Please note views from the balconies can change during the year because the trees at the Plaza grow their leaves out. It turns into a green view of London Plane leaves which helps keeping the flat cooler in the summer.
