Isla de Vieques Vacation Rentals
My wife and I stayed a week at the Bravos Boyz Ocean House. The house is in excellent condition, with comfortable beds/furniture, good kitchen appliances/tools, satellite TV, wifi, phones with long-distance (cell service isn't great in spots, but I got decent Verizon service in most rooms of the house), AC, washer/dryer, great deck furniture by the ocean and the pool, gas grill, and a nice pool. Everything was very clean. The view of the water is beautiful and we ate a lot of meals under the shade of the gazebo, looking at the waves and views of PR and Isla Culebra. The home is within easy walking distance of the ferry dock (quarter mile?) and the restaurants/bars in downtown Isabel II. My wife and I felt very safe in and around the home (and on Vieques in general), though the Bravos Boys staff are careful to remind you to keep the home locked. Lots of reviewers of Vieques say petty crimes of opportunity are common on Vieques, so we followed everyone's suggestions and had no issues at all. We never felt unsafe. There is a locked garage with remote door where you can park your car. There's basically no traffic noise at the house as it's the last house on a dead-end street, but you will hear some neighborhood dogs, chickens that wander the street, and wild birds. If that bothers your sleep, the second bedroom is much quieter and the AC units make good white noise machines. Bravos Boyz staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave great recommendations for activities when I was planning the trip over the phone. They also picked us up at the airport, gave us a nice tour of the area, and drove us to the car rental and the house. They made staying on the island a breeze. We didn't bring our dogs, but we scoped the place out for dog-friendliness. It's listed online as allowing dogs and would work well. The whole lot is enclosed by walls and fences and there is even a small doggie door onto the enclosed (by metal bars) front porch. There aren't too many dirt/grass areas for dogs, but there are enough at least for small dogs.
