We are now a licensed property (see photos). Since 2012 the license is mandatory. Have owners show you their license!!

Villa Saudade has its special charm lying in a simple elegance and the authenticity of the object. Villa Saudade is not one of the typical commercial vacation homes in one of the many tourists' agglomerations. It lies with its own private pool of approx. 13 x 6 yards in Parc Natural S'Albufera. The garden which is maintained by a gardener seamlessly integrates into the nature. Old, 6-9 m high palm trees define the character of the garden. There are two terraces. One protected porch and one veranda facing the pool with a nice view. At night only a few lights of houses can be seen although the neighbours are only 100 yards away on the other side of the property. In 2010 a new wooden platform of 600 sqft have been added around the pool. From Jan-March 2012 the villa has been totally refurbished and mostly fitted with new furniture. This was done on a high standard with kitchen appliances of Miele, Liebherr and Smegg. Bathrooms in natural marble stones with generous showers.

In Jan-March 2012 the villa has undergone a complete refurbishment. We build two nice bathrooms with natural marble stone as well as a more generous kitchen with high end standard (Miele, Liebherr, SMEGG, Nesspresso) for the demanding cook.

2. Shopping service for arrivals on sundays as supermarkets close around 1pm. This service costs an additionals 30EUR.

Service in Menorca: We have an agency in Mahon that takes care of you when in Menorca. They speak spanish and english. You will have the mobile number of Mr. Sintes in case you need anything.

You can now also optionally use our 7-seated KIA Joice. This increases the rental cost of the villa. Pls refer to prices.

Villa Saudade lies in 'Parc Natural S'Albufera', a UNESCO nature reserve and a former golf course project in the 1960s. After approx. 400 houses were projected in the reserve the local government declared it as a protected area. Our house was one of approx. 35 houses build at the time and since then. The park is not even 10 minutes from pulsing Mahon and 10 min. from nice beaches. At 3 km you find Es Grau, an authentic fisher-village with basic shopping facilities including fresh fish from local fishermen.

Notes:
There is a brick-barbeque on the lower terrace. Stereo system installed i 2012 with 4 speaker pairs inside and outside. The villa can be made toddler-safe with an additional plastic fence for the terrace (has to be fitted and taken off by guests). We also provide a www.poolguard.com/inground.asp at own risk. No central heating, but wood oven and electrical floor heating in the bathrooms at an extra charge (€35/week). Two dehumifier reduce potential humidity in off-season months. There is a Nesspresso machine with 10 complimentary capsules which can be bought in any supermarket in Spain. UMTS-based WLAN for internet surfing optional at €3,90 per day (250MB free).

Perfect for a peaceful, restful holiday.

We've been holidaying in this villa each summer for the last 12 years, both with and, now, without our daughter (who is beyond the age of wanting to holiday with her parents!).

Saudade is a beautiful home-from-home tucked away in a stunning natural park. We love the privacy and peace - the villa is not overlooked and the only sound is the wind in the palm trees around the pool. It's a ten minute drive from the harbour in Mahon, and about the same from the nearest beach at Es Grau.

The villa has recently been upgraded with new bathrooms (one en suite for the main bedroom), a new kitchen and lots of other goodies, but it still retains its cosy charm. Absolutely my favourite holiday spot.

We have just returned from a relaxing week at this lovely villa. We loved the seclusion and natural surroundings, and enjoyed the pool and terraces. We enjoyed exploring Mahon and also found quiet and unspoilt beaches nearby. The owner was very helpful and as this was our first visit to Menorca we were grateful for his hints and tips about where to shop and eat. There is so much to see but it was difficult to tear ourselves away from the pool - so we will definitely be back!

Deze villa is gelegen in een prachtig natuurreservaat en is heel comfortabel om rustig na een uitstap een boekje te lezen. Het zwembad is groot en heel goed onderhouden.
Op enkele kilometers zeer mooie vismarkt en delicatesse
winkels met vele soorten ham.
