No need to compromise on comfort: curl up in the master bedroom between luxurious cotton sheets (White Company) in an American King bed (Relyon) with a rosewood frame and headboard (Simon Horn).

Ideal for couples or families wanting to explore all that York has to offer. Walking distance to York Minster, Jorvik Centre, museums, etc. Less than 2 minutes to the famous Betty's cafe tea rooms. Access to the city walls is nearby.

Very quiet, secure, accommodation yet right in the center of the city. Close to York station for those who want to leave their car at home (private parking 5 minutes walk away for those who don't).

Enjoy great views of York Minster from the master bedroom and roof terrace.

Property has one King bedroom with en-suite shower room, access to roof terrace and views of York Minster. Second bedroom is a Twin (two 3' beds) and also has access to the terrace and the family bathroom. Twin can be made up as a second King (6') on request. Both these bedrooms are on the top floor. On the ground floor is another shower room and kids bedroom with four bunks, woodland mural and fiber optic twinkling star ceiling. Please note that this bunk room is not suitable for adults.

Open plan living room and kitchen with modern AEG appliances,including dishwasher, American 'side by side' fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and waste disposal. Oak furniture and large slate dining table which seats 8.

Large flat screen HD TV (46') with Blu-ray DVD, digital and internet TV. Broadband internet available via WiFi throughout. Underfloor heating.

Please note that single sex groups such as those attending stag/hen events are not welcome.

My wife and I are both professionals and currently live in the USA. We have four boys and Blake Mews is our holiday home in the UK. We only get to use it a couple of weeks per year so we hope you enjoy it!

Why Nigel Smith chose York

An award winning small development in the heart of this historic city with views of York Minster. For overseas visitors, York is a great base from which to explore the UK with London and Edinburgh readily accessible by direct trains (just 2 hours to London).

Leave the car at home and enjoy a break in this lively city. Blake Mews is a modern town house that was developed to a high standard in 2007. The mews is safe and secure but in the center of town.

Linens etc. are provided. The kitchen is well equipped but with all of York's restaurants and bars so close at hand you may never use it.

Fantastic location for a weekend break or holiday with older children. Property sleeps 4 adults and 4 children in a bunk room.

York is an amazing place and we loved being so close to the shops (especially the soap factory across the road) and we thank you for letting us stay. We have come from Guildford, 4 hours away, just to get here and it has proved a journey well spent.

Best location in York!

Easy booking from the USA. My husband and I stayed 1 week and could have stayed more. We took the train from Edinburgh (we were there 2 weeks) and it was an easy walk from the train station to the flat. Kimberley was waiting for us with the keys and a quick explanation of how things worked. The town house is tucked around a corner and very convenient to the York sites, coffee shops and great restaurants. Lots of room in this 2 bedroom place - very comfortable master US king bed. Kitchen was great, US type washing machine and separate dry - excellent. And the York Minster is right outside your living room!! I loved listening to the bells ring - they usually don't ring after 8pm. Deposit was refunded quickly. Great experience all round. Don't pass up staying here.

Best Easter Holiday in years!

I am a bit late in writing this but wanted say just how much we enjoyed our stay in Blake Mews. The property could not be more centrally based in York but you would have never known you were in the city centre as it was so quiet. The apartment was beautiful and a real pleasure to come home to every day. We spent a lot of time in the lounge/dining/kitchen area as it was so relaxing. The property was just as described and the master bedroom was fantastic. We kept our curtains open at night as the view of the minster was so lovely and it was a pleasure to hear the bells ring and be so close to them. We were able to go down to the bakers below in the mornings and get their hot rolls etc and then straight out into the centre of town for our day. The apartment was so lovely and central that we came home most days for lunch and to drop off our purchases. Our family consisted of 2 adults and 3 children aged 15, 10 and 10. The twins loved the downstairs bedroom with the ceiling lights. we went to every museum in York that week and it was lovely not to have to drive to any of them. We were so close to the theatre too that we went twice! I can highly recommend this property to anyone. The apartment is beautiful, comfortable and so central and safe. York has so much to offer (including the 2 ghost walks we went on). We all got so much from our holiday and are planning to return soon. thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Luxury getaway in the heart of historic York

Tucked away in the heart of York and only a very short walk from museums, the Minster and the Shambles, Blake Mews is in the perfect location for a long weekend away. We didn't get into the car for 3 days - bliss.
The facilities are extremely well thought through with every need catered for and the accommodation is modern and comfortable. The children loved the double bunk bed room, complete with twinkling ceiling lights. I loved the spectacular view of the Minster from the master bedroom window and the fact that everything was right on the doorstep.
I would highly recommend Blake Mews to couples and families alike.
