CAN'T WAIT TO BOOK AGAIN FOR NEXT SUMMER

Location was perfect. I always had a great place to park. Laundry facilities were across the street. It really felt like we were going home each night. It was right in the middle of everything and convenient to walmart, grocery stores, the garden district, magazine street and list can go on and on. Everything was just as advertised and we were 100% satisfied with our experience. I recommend the hop on / hop off tour if you are visiting the area. My only surprise was when it said the kitchen was small I just didn't envision how small....literally only 1 person in there at a time but, I cooked breakfast and 3/7 dinners in there so everything works well. Again, thanks for making our trip fantastic and worry free... I will be booking again!

FANTASTIC

We arrived only a couple of days after the previous review had been posted and I must say we have had a totally different experience. The owner and his wife happened to be upstairs when we arrived, they both made us feel extremely welcome and gave us some much information on places to go in the locality it was extremely useful. The apartment we had had two very good sized bedrooms a reasonable sized lounge area a smallish kitchen and a decent sized bathroom, it was everything we needed. Considering the property had first been built in the 1800's it was in very good condition. The beds have memory foam which is very pleasant to sleep on. Parking is in the street but we managed to park outside the front door every time at no cost. It is very close to the tram into the French Quarter and really close to Magazine Street where there are numerous restaurants and bars. Overall we would definitely recommend this property it is not brand new, it has character, the floor slopes a little, it is close enough to all the amenities and attractions in the city and to us represented great value for money.

WORST GUEST QUARTERS SERVICE EVER

First, the good parts: location, location, and location. Now, the deficiencies: 1) Just a scrap of toilet paper left when we arrived. 2) No tissues 3) coffee maker inoperable 4) two lamps without light bulbs 5) one washcloth for 3 guests 6) contrary the the "operation manual" we received for this property, there is no dishwasher - nor was there a dish towel. 7) beds were very uncomfortable (way too soft) The owner (Tom) has guests deal with the property manager (Lauren) for problems. When I called Lauren to notify her of the problems and asked her to bring us the missing items, she told me "this is a B&B, not a hotel; I am not a concierge." She also said "guests normally have to bring these things to a B&B." Really? I told her we already went out and bought paper products, but that we really needed a coffee maker. She said she would MAYBE bring us one the next day. I told her that was not a good way to get positive reviews, and she said "That doesn't matter. We have plenty of positive reviews." She then called me an obscene word that describes the lower part of the digestive tract. She did end up bringing us a new coffee maker on Monday (day 3). If you want a good location, if you want to bring along half of your home furnishings, if you want to stay somewhere where they aboviously do not give a hoot about your comfort, if you do not like to sleep well, and if you like being sworn at, then this is the place for you!

Owner's Response: My first reaction was to just say that someone didn't take his meds. But when I read this review carefully I can see that there are a few elements of truth.

For example,

2) There may not have been any tissue. We always double check the toilet paper, but not necessarily the tissue. We will add that to our list.

3) The coffee maker was, indeed, broken. Our manager, Lauren, was out of town for he day and was unable to replace it until the next day.

5) Two light bulbs were out. They have now been replaced. When lightbulbs go out these days, we are replacing them with LED bulbs which last for many years.

6) Though we never state that we have a dishwasher in any of our advertising or property descriptions for this apartment, the "Operating Manual", which is only sent out after a reservation is made, does say: "Please clean any dirty dishes or utensils or pots or pans, or rinse them and put them in the dishwasher". I have now changed that wording, which was there for our other two apartments which do have dishwashers.

7) The beds have new memory foam mattresses, purchased only two months ago. While it is true that most people find the memory foam very comfortable, there are some people who don't like the feel, and I take it on faith that this guest found it too soft.

So, for all of those criticisms in this review that are true, I am sorry. And for all of those that are half-truths, or not true at all, I am sorry too.

CUTE APT IN AN EXCELLENT LOCATION!

My husband and I are from central Louisiana .We have been to NOLA many times, before and after Katrina. Take it from me, this is a perfect location. Both mattresses are temperpedic so they are very comfortable. The Columns, a wonderful historic B&B, where you can get a drink or dinner with music located about ten blocks on ST. Charles. There is a local coffee shop on Prytania, Still Perkin, about three blocks and then the street car will take you anywhere uptown or downtown!

Joe the manager is great, Pays much attention to detail. My only complaint was that the TV did not work at all for the week we were there! Not that in NOLA you want to watch TV, but I do like the news in the morning!
