This is an attractive ground floor flat in a Victorian town house, and was completely renovated in 2010. It is on a quiet residential street, yet as centrally located as it gets. The Capitol complex and the Supreme Court are only three blocks away. 'Restaurant Row', a stretch of Massachusetts Avenue with numerous restaurants, is only one block away. The National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, the Newseum, and a Metro station are all within walking distance. You will not need a car. In terms of size, the flat is ideal for a couple, or perhaps a couple with a child. It is also suitable for seniors, because the entrance is at street level and there are no stairs. The flat is totally independent from the main house above, with a separate entrance, mechanical systems, phone line, etc. To sum it up, this little place is small in size, but big on charm!

How Reservations Work:
We recommend using the 'Book it Now' button, which will confirm availability and provide a detailed quote before you reach the screen on which you are asked to commit. We book with the $120 cleaning fee, and the balance is due 30 days before arrival. All payments are self-service, via credit card or e-check using HomeAway's secure payments page, and you do not need to provide us credit card information.
Cancellations: If you have to cancel a reservation, we will return all funds received when cancellation notice is given 30 days or more prior to arrival, or if the cancellation is due to circumstances beyond your control such as a major snowstorm, airline strike, illness, etc.
Arrival and Departure Logistics:
Check out time is 11AM, check in time 3PM. This is to allow time for the cleaners if there is a same-day change-over. If either time poses an issue please let us know, as a it is often possible to make alternative arrangements with the cleaners.
We use a code lock, so there is no need to mail or drop off keys, and you can arrive at any time of night.

We picked this home expressly for vacation rental use, with the hindsight of having lived in this area for close to twenty years. It is just ideally situated with a combination of easy access to the major sites, and quiet once back home.
The location! This is a place which is extremely quiet, where you are the shortest possible distance to the major DC attractions, and where you feel safe walking at any hour of night or day. It's a neighborhood that is utterly livable. There is wonderful grocery shopping nearby, restaurants you would visit with the family, bookstores, etc. Metro is a few blocks away if you need to go beyond walking range.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Stanton Park rental. It was convenient to our needs for restaurants, sights, and transportation. (Parking has increased over what is listed in the pdf file.) The property was very neat, the bed very comfortable, and the property owner very responsive to our needs. We would gladly stay here again when we travel to the area.
This is a lovely little space to make home while in DC. It is very clean and exactly what we expected. The owner does an excellent job orienting guests to DC, the flat, and how to get around town. It is conveniently located to Union Station - a central hub for taking metro, and within walking distance of all of the main attractions on the Mall. We felt safe there and found the space a retreat from the hustle and bustle after long days of site seeing. As an aside, it is a perfect space to stay if you are attending a conference in DC (vastly preferable to a stuffy hotel). We would stay here for pleasure or business in the future!
Great location, comfortable for two, well equipped, warm even in Jan. and there IS a stepping stool under the Kitchen sink. We hope to stay again in the future.

I stayed at this unit exactly a year ago, and had remembered that it was cozy, well-equpped and convenient. Memory served me well--I found it as accommodating as before, and felt as if it has become a genuine "home" away. There isn't a thing I would change about the unit: it is clean, quiet, thoughtfully equipped and located just blocks from Union Station. I am already looking forward to my next opportunity to make use of this apartment.
Pros: Spotlessly clean!; Good bed; Quality linens; Completely stocked kitchen with utensils, dishware, glasses, etc.; Excellent washer/dryer; Adequate storage space (for two); Hot water; Even heat. This is a tastefully decorated flat in a quiet neighborhood. We felt safe at the apartment and as we walked surrounding streets.
Cons: Kitchen cabinets are very high, with the lowest shelf almost five feet from the floor and the highest far toward the ceiling (step stool?); No guide to TV channels (remote has Guide button but nothing happens); Noisy when upper floors are occupied; Distant from grocery store and Metro. Staying here adds significant walking to the DC experience. Deal-breakers? No!! We enjoyed it.
The house is located on a quiet friendly street less than half a block from Stanton Park and one block from Restaurant Row, a block of restaurants with tables right on the sidewalk. Capitol Hill is a historical conservation neighborhood of beautifully maintained, charming old houses. It has a small-town feel and a human scale, is cosmopolitan, and has a thriving cultural scene. The residential area closest to Washington's institutions, it is home to a large number of politicians and VIPs.
