I grew up in Lewiston and love this unique border town so steeped in rich history. Lewiston is a little hamlet very close to Niagara Falls and was burned down in the War of 1812.. I know everything about this area , past and present and love interacting with my guests. I try very hard to not only welcome them but am intent on learning and guiding them to having the best vacation they could possibly have.

Sandy Yates purchased this house in 2008

This is a wonderful property. The neighborhood is so quiet and friendly. It is only 3 streets of small houses and cottages with the wonder of Lake Ontario, right there in your back yard. Ot os a very special place and one can't help but bond and relax while there. It is so close to all the action, but yet it is wonderful to come home to peace and tranquility. !

There are so many benefits, it is hard to know where to start. The lake front is just. a few steps away from the house. Although it is private to only the residents of this small community, it is like having your own private lake because there is seldom anyone at the lakefront. There is a wonderful spacious living room with a wrap around couch that is so perfect for visiting with family and friends. I love dogs and even offer an extra service in which I can watch your dog with tender loving care, if you decide to take a long day trip to Canada or elsewhere. .

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

  • 5 out of 5
We came to Lewiston because our parents wanted to see Niagara Falls. We decided to celebrate their 60 years of marriage and our fathers 79 birthday. When we arrived we found our "Home Away from Home". There were 4 of us and two dogs and plenty of space for all of us. It was fully furnished and charmingly decorated. Sandy thought of everything from shampoo to laundry detergent; from salt to coffee filters. Sandy even had pastries and water upon our arrival...Just like a mom would. Lewiston was located at the heart of everything we planned for our vacation.
The day after we arrived, our Father suffered a stroke and had to be hospitalized. Sandy was a God send. I called Sandy and told her what had happened and she provided information for the nearest hospital, She gave us information on where to get his handicap sticker. She stayed in constant contact with us checking on his condition. We would have been lost without her help and knowledge of the area, which was invaluable. We will always be indebted to her. She has continued to stay in touch checking on his condition.
When our father left the hospital we returned to Sandy's for a few days so Dad could rest. It was a perfect retreat...it was so peaceful. We would walk him down to the lake. He would sit on the bench and watch the sailboats.
Sandy referred us to several destinations in the area that did not disappoint us.
From restaurants, entertainment and even to fishing charters, Sandy left no stone unturned. She literally thought of everything to make our stay memorable. Even with the situation with our father, we will never forget this trip, and we were still able to take our parents to Niagara.
We have mentioned her home as a perfect getaway for a quiet, peaceful, beautiful memory...which is what a vacation is all about. We plan to return and when we do, we will definitely check to see the availability of her place.
We know if we don't, it will be booked. We loved being only a few steps from beautiful Lake Ontario. We walked several of it's banks. We could also see Toronto on the horizon. What else could you ask for in a vacation. Sandy was the perfect host during our stay in upstate New York.

RELAXING GETAWAY

  • 5 out of 5
We visit family members in Niagara Falls and Toronto every year and chose this house because of the great location! Right near stunning Lake Ontario! Our family had a blast going down to the water and taking in the views of the Toronto skyline. We were close to historic Fort Niagara, Niagara on the Lake and the cute town of Lewiston NY which I recommend visiting. Sandy was very accommodating and made us feel right at home. She suggested many restaurants and activities in the surrounding area. She couldn't have been a better host! We were greeted with fresh scones from the local bakery and all the amenities we needed. The place was very clean when we arrived and I enjoyed the nautical theme of the house! We will definitely consider staying at this property on our next trip!

A GREAT PLACE TO MEET OLD FRIENDS AND CATCH UP.

  • 5 out of 5
The house was what we expected from the description given. It was exactly what we wanted for two old college couples to meet and spend time together.

We were so please with how completely furnished it was and so clean.

We would recommed the property to anyone that wants a quiet place to reflect and catch up.

A PLACE TO GET AWAY

  • 5 out of 5
My husband and I travelled to Lewiston with friends to attend the annual Christmas Tour of Homes . We stayed one night at Quiet Lake Guest House and it was very restful after a busy day. We had enjoyed a wonderful wine tour in Canada and were anxious get to our accomodations after all that wine tasting. The house was so welcoming with soft Christmas lights and very nice ambiance. We loved sitting in the large living room visiting and laughing into the wee hours. We all slept well - beds were comfortable and the area is very peaceful. Our morning was spent lingering over coffee (supplied in the cupboard) & bagels, enjoying the bright, airy atmosphere of the house. We would definitely like to do this next year. It was wonderful visiting this historical area at this time of year. Sandy has made this into a piece of paradise - a place to escape the hustle & bustle of a busy life.

Quaint cottage in a lovely area provided a great "home base" to travel to Buffalo, Lewiston, Niagra Falls (Canadian and American). We had a wonderful time. Sandy the owner is very helpful and responsive. The grill didn't work when we got there and we had a new grill within hours!

VERY PLEASANT RETREAT

  • 5 out of 5
This is a very nice, well equipped cottage that is warm and inviting. Upon our arrival we had fresh raspberry tarts waiting for us which I thought was a nice touch. The house offers all the amenities of home and makes for a very relaxing stay. The living room is very spacious and comfortable with a reading area which is very nice. The pictures and books within the house gives you so much history to the area you can't wait to go and explore! Since only my husband and I went with our dog we only used the ground floor but the upstairs had a very beautiful bedroom and bath with more books and games!

It is just yards from the lake and Fort Niagara is very close by with a wonderful park and many things to do. The drive to the Falls is very nice and only about 20 mins. The Devil's Hole and Whirlpool parks are along the way with some great views and hiking trails. Youngstown and Lewiston are both nice little towns close by with some wonderful little restaurants, shops and bakeries.

The owner, Sandy, and I were in contact with each other a couple of times before our arrival date and she sent me wonderful information on events in the area during our stay. She went way beyond her role to make our stay pleasant. She is a delight to do business with and really aims to please.

I highly recommend this wonderful cottage to anyone that likes the feel of home away from home. It is quiet and relaxing and if you didn't want to go out and explore, it is filled with so many books, movies, games and other interesting things you could spend the entire time "at home".

Thanks Sandy for making our first trip to Niagara Falls such a wonderful one! It will not be our last!
