6 Bedrooms, 5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 14

Nestled in a secret corner of Incline Village, Nevada - on Lake Tahoe's north shore - Tunnel Creek Lodge is a step back in time, yet with all of today's modern conveniences and amenities. This luxurious rustic-modern log home features a spacious 4,200 square feet, and sleeps up to 14, with six bedrooms and four bathrooms. Sitting on 3+ secluded acres, this private residence boasts panoramic views of Lake Tahoe, making it an ideal location for family reunions, corporate retreats, romantic get-aways, special events, weddings and more. Tunnel Creek Lodge's exclusive and private setting - hidden away from the general public behind gated access - have made it a favorite get-away for the rich and famous for years. Impeccably decorated, the rustic-modern decor of this private rental log home will make you feel like you stepped back in time to 100 years ago. Come experience the luxury - and history - of Tunnel Creek Lodge for yourself ...

Ideal for Weddings, Special Events: The vast views of Lake Tahoe and surrounding High Sierra set the stage for your next special event. From weddings, to anniversaries, fund-raisers and more, Tunnel Creek Lodge offers all the amenities you will need for a perfect day of celebration. The vast lawn to the south of the property can accommodate up to 200 and just above the Lodge to the east is a smaller grass setting wrapped with granite rocks and Lake views for a more intimate event. As a destination location, Tunnel Creek Lodge has all the connections you may need to complete your special day including catering, florists, wedding coordinators, bands/DJ's, photographers and more. Feel free to contact the owners for complete information and professional assistance.

A Mountain Bikers, Snowshoer's Paradise: The vast acreage surrounding Tunnel Creek Lodge is a virtual playground beckoning to be explored. Just a stone’s throw from your private luxury rental log home, the world famous Flume Trail takes you around the North Eastern 'rim' of Lake Tahoe where views are nothing short of spectacular. And mountain biking is just the beginning. Bike rentals, trail guides and endless local insight is available through the property owners and their local biking buddies.

There’s no question why Lake Tahoe has been known for centuries at “America’s Year-round Playground”. Lake Tahoe offers more indoor and outdoor recreation than any other destination in the country. With some of world's most beautiful golf courses, biking and hiking trails, boating, kayaking, miles of sandy beaches, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and 14 ski resorts, you'll want to save time for playtime.

Home, Home on the 'Ponderosa Ranch': A special feature about this Log Cabin is its connection to the internationally-famous Bonanza TV series. The property was part of the famous Ponderosa Ranch where Bonanza was filmed for many years and viewed by Cartwright fans from around the world. The views of Lake Tahoe remain just as breathtaking today as they have for years gone by.

While thousands passed through the nearby gates of the Ponderosa Ranch annually, few knew that behind a locked gate, just up the road, sat the private home Anderson carefully crafted to house his family. A few years later, his son chose to build his own luxury log cabin on a corner of the property with the most breathtaking Lake views. That home is now Tunnel Creek Lodge - and it available for you to enjoy, year-round. Today, it's one of the region's most exclusive locations for family reunions, anniversaries, corporate retreats and special events. About The Owner

Craig & Liz Olson both grew up in Southern California - Craig, in the San Fernando Valley, and Liz, in Santa Clarita. Liz originally lived on her family's property in Agua Dulce, California, at Vasquez Rocks (now a County Park), where hundreds of films and TV shows have been shot for many years, including Bonanza, and Star Trek. You can ask Liz about her run-in with William Shatner, and how she inspired his love of horses, or about her role as a baby in the arms of Little Joe in old Bonanza episodes.

Craig and Liz have been visiting and enjoying Lake Tahoe together since 1989, and have made Incline Village their permanent home in 2011. They love Lake Tahoe, and enjoy sharing it with others - Tunnel Creek Lodge is a perfect way to share the beauty of the Lake Tahoe area with friends, family, and other visitors.

The Owner purchased this lodge in 2008

Why The Owner chose Incline Village

We loved the beauty of the original 5 acre parcel, with the old 'bunkhouse' (former Ponderosa Stables, and now Tunnel Creek Station) below, and the modern, yet rustic log cabin perched at the top of the hill, overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe and the mountains that surround it. As a mountain biker, Craig had passed the property countless times coming out of Nevada State Park after riding either the Rim or Flume Trail, and loved it being at the entrance to the park 'Just ride out of the driveway and onto the trail!'

Absolutely the best place to stay in Tahoe!

  • 5 of 5

Unless you wish to stay right on the lake to boat, The Tunnel Creek Lodge is the best play to stay! The home décor is so warm and inviting (the photos don't do the place justice). The views are out of sight. You can go do your grocery shopping and never leave the grounds. Hiking and biking are within walking distance. We rented the house for my daughter's wedding party to stay. Things could not have been more perfect. This will be our go-to place when we have small family gatherings in the future!

Craig is an exceptionally gracious host and the house is incredible - the pictures don't do it justice, it feels even grander and more special than you might think!

A Wonderful Christmas Experience

  • 5 of 5

Our family (8 adults and 5 children) had the pleasure of spending Christmas at Tunnel Creek Lodge this year. It was great to be able to have three generations under one roof. The owners, Craig and Liz, were most helpful and had anticipated our every need, right down to sleds for the kid's snow play. The views of Lake Tahoe from the house are spectacular. We had incredible sunsets every night except Christmas Eve when it snowed. A perfect finish to a fantastic visit.

Our family loves this spot

  • 5 of 5

Tunnel Creek Lodge is a beautiful spot for celebration, relaxation and just plain fun! Our son, who lives in Incline Village, was thrilled to celebrate his 50th birthday here. The property is impeccably maintained and the owners friendly and accommodating. The location is convenient for many of the activities which make Tahoe such a special place to visit but the spectacular views from the Lodge make it difficult to leave.

Great for our family gathering!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 10 with 3 generations, 3 couples, & 4 grandchildren ages 8-24 had a great time here. The property was great and easy to get to other locations from it. The 6 bedrooms, 5 king-sized beds, 2 twins & a spare queen, 5 bathrooms, 3 washing machines, and kitchen gadgets galore were great. Hiking, biking, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding & sailing were all enjoyed right from the property or near-by. Go early to Sand Harbor for parking. Craig was great to work with - very accommodating.

Great for family gathering!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 10 enjoyed a week's stay in Aug 2014. There were 3 generations, 3 couples, & 4 grandchildren 24-8 years old. The 5 king-sized beds, 6 bedrooms, 2 twins were perfect for us. The queen bed was used only to bounce on by the younger kids! The pool table in the loft above the kitchen was a great gathering place. The different levels allowed a bit of space amongst us also. The rocks, soft grass, & shade trees everywhere were also gathering places. Every morning & evening we'd dash out to take sunrise & sunset pictures. We made good use of nearby activities - hiking up the hill from the house, hiking to Hidden Beach, hiking to Eagle Lake (after we drove much closer to Emerald Bay)! The bike shuttle was used for some to bike 26 miles on the Flume Trail. Biking from Squaw Valley to Tahoe City & back was also done. Sand Harbor was great for hiking, swimming, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboards - just arrive early for parking! Touring Emerald Bay on the Paddle Wheeler and sailboating was also enjoyed.

The house itself was wonderful - plenty of bathrooms, washing machines, storage, & kitchen items. Family entities took turns cooking and the little ones enjoyed not being in restaurants too often. We used the grill, the microwave, the oven, the especially the dishwasher. All worked as they should.

Nearly 3 months later everyone is still talking about the Lake Tahoe trip!!

Craig was a very accommodating owner, easy to work with.

I would definitely recommend this property.
