Born and raised in Missoula!

Liz Dye purchased this condo in 2006

My husband and I are both from Montana. I was born and raised in Missoula and grew up seeing the Wilma building most every day. The Wilma is such an iconic piece of this great town, when the building was converted to condo's, we jumped at the chance to purchase this piece of Missoula history.

LOVE that we can walk all over downtown and the Hip Strip. Close to the Missoula Art Museum, shopping, dining and the University. Right next to the Clark Fork River and Brenna's Wave, the Carousel and trails!

FABULOUS MISSOULA HOME BASE

  • 5 out of 5
My husband and I loved our stay in Wilma 5-5. The condo is beautifully decorated as well as being welcoming and comfortable. The owner has stocked the condo with a variety of great Montana-related books--everything from history to hikes to novels by Montana authors. Made for enjoyable reading in the evenings. From the Wilma we were able to walk everywhere we needed/wanted to go in town, including to campus to visit our nephew. The owner's instructions regarding parking, building and condo access, etc. were thorough and easy to follow. The Saturday morning farmer's market is right outside the door to the Wilma building, and we highly recommend that visitors take time for a walk along the Clark Fork River--absolutely gorgeous! We fell in love with Montana on this trip, and when we return we plan to stay at Wilma 5-5 again!

PHOTOAMAZING

I attended the Rocky Mountain School Of Photography for the entire summer 2013. And the Wilma 5.5 became my home for that time period. The owner Liz Dye is an amazing person and wonderful landlord. The condo boasts one bedroom, one bathroom, and a full kitchen. All of which were nice and clean. I would highly recommend this lovely abode. Additionally, The Wilma is in walking distance to parks, restaurants and most everything downtown. Including my favorite, The Farmers Market!

CONVENIENT TO EVERYTHING MISSOULA

  • 5 out of 5
I enjoyed my stay at the Wilma in this condo and learned very quickly that I could walk to so many places that I wanted to go. All of the instructions for getting in were easy to follow and there was even a parking pass for the garage across the street. It was a well-equipped condo, and my stay was a good one.

MISSOULA WEEKEND

  • 5 out of 5
The location is perfect for not only exploring Missoula, but also accessible to major interstates to explore the neighboring areas.

The studio apt was exactly what we needed for a long relaxing weekend. Very cozy and clean with modern upgrades. The street noise is a little loud, but not a problem if the windows were kept closed. I'm not sure we ever quite figured out the parking, but we didn't have any problems with tickets or anything.

We would definitely stay here again!

BETH AND PAUL'S SEPTEMBER STAY

Beth and Paul's September Stay

This property was fantastic! A beautifully renovated apartment in the historic Wilma Building, as advertised. My husband and I stayed here during the week of our wedding in Missoula, and were able to walk everywhere in the downtown area easily. The home was stocked with all of the essentials, and the owners had left instructions on trash, parking, getting in and out after hours, etc. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Missoula!

Missoula is a city in the U.S. state of Montana and is the county seat of Missoula County. It is located along the Clark Fork and Bitterroot rivers in Western Montana and at the convergence of five mountain ranges, thus is often described as being the 'Hub of Five Valleys'. The 2010 Census put the population of Missoula at 66,788 and the Missoula Metropolitan Area at 109,299. As of July 1, 2011 the city grew to 67,290,[3] and put the Missoula metropolitan area at 110,138.[4] Since 2000, Missoula has been the second largest city in Montana.[5]

Missoula was founded in 1860 and named Hellgate Trading Post while still part of Washington Territory. By 1866, the settlement had moved five miles upstream and renamed Missoula Mills before being shortened to Missoula.[6] The mills provided supplies to western settlers traveling along the Mullan Road with Fort Missoula, set up in 1877 to protect the settlers, further stabilizing the economy. The arrival of the Northern Pacific Railway in 1883 was coupled with rapid growth and the maturation of the local lumber industry. An element of prestige could be claimed ten years later when what was already called the City of Missoula was chosen by the Montana Legislature as the site for the new state’s first university. Along with the U.S. Forest Service headquarters founded in 1908, lumber and the university would remain staples of the local economy for the next hundred years.[7]

By the 1990s, Missoula’s lumber industry had gradually disappeared, and today the city’s largest employers are the University of Montana and Missoula’s two hospitals. The city is governed by a mayor-council government with twelve city council members, two from each of the six wards. In and around Missoula are 400 acres (160 ha) of parkland, 22 miles (35 km) of trails, and nearly 5,000 acres (2,000 ha) of open-space conservation land with adjacent Mount Jumbo home to grazing elk and mule deer during the winter months.[8] The city is also home to both Montana’s largest and its oldest active breweries as well as the Montana Grizzlies, one of the strongest college football programs in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Notable residents include the first woman in Congress, Jeannette Rankin and the United States’ longest-serving Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield.
