|Minimum Stay||3 - 6 nights|
This vacation Beach House is located in the Porta del Sol Tourism Area west of the island of Puerto Rico in the municipality of Aguada. The municipality of Aguada brings the tourist the opportunity to explore a variety of calm waters, gentle breezes, and a unique tropical sunsets. The property is located 25 minutes from the Aguadilla Airport and 1 hour 50 minutes from Luis Munoz Marin Airport at San Juan.
The beach house is around 15 minutes driving from where the major events are taking place. It is a perfect vacation hideaway. It sits on a beautiful shallow beach with an awesome view and access to the beach. This home has a large covered porch and sun deck with plenty of sitting room for any activity. It also includes a large charcoal barbecue pit. Hammocks are included for guested to relax and enjoy the beautiful tropical sunsets.
The shallow beach is perfect for kids too.
We had such a wonderful stay at this Aguada beachfront home! The property was perfect for our group of two couples and one toddler and could have easily accommodated larger families. Everything was clean and comfortable and we all enjoyed lounging and eating on the large deck. The pictures don't do justice to the incredible view from the deck! There is no oven or dishwasher, but otherwise the kitchen had everything we needed and we ate most of our meals at home. The beach is mostly used by the few villas in the area, so it was very quiet and nice to walk. Unfortunately, the surf was too strong for swimming during our visit, but we enjoyed watching a handful of surfers every morning and evening. We found nice swimming on the western-facing beaches of Rincon (15 min drive) and Playa Crash Boat in Aguadilla (30 min drive). Many thanks to the owners, who welcomed us and were always available via text.
We researched many places to stay before deciding on this beach house. This beach house is the place to stay. The open concept kitchen /living room with 10 foot ceilings and a large window looking onto the spacious balcony and ocean is amazing. We only ate out 4 times in our 7 day stay because the kitchen was so accommodating. The balcony is so big and nearly half the square footage of the interior of the house itself, with 4 hammocks, table and chairs, picnic table, lounge chairs and bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. We found so many shells on the beach!!!. My husband and daughters loved playing and swimming in the warm water of the beautiful ocean. Large carport to park two vehicles with gate locked behind. We are very thankful to Lillian and Maximino for renting their beach home to us.
We enjoyed a week at this home. We wanted something that was on a quieter beach without all the crowds and this fit the bill! Everything was as the pictures showed. The kitchen was well equipped (no oven, but didn't miss!) and we enjoyed the hammocks! I appreciated that there were beach towels and air conditioning in the bedrooms. You were just a stones throw from the water. (in fact sometimes the waves were so loud we shut the windows!) We found lovely snorkeling nearby at Seven Steps beach and many other fun things. The home was clean and the owners were there to meet us and show us around. It was a great house for our family of five to hang out and play games at night, and play in the water during the day.
Pictures do not do this place justice! We needed a place big and private enough for my husband and I, my sister and her boyfriend (18 & 20), my 2 younger sisters and younger brother (teens 14, 15 & 17), my grandmother, my 2 boys (5 & 11). My grandmother's only request was that it be beachfront... she wanted to hear the waves at night and enjoy the beach during the day. This place fits the bill like no other.
There are three decent sized bedrooms and all have A/C. My husband and I took the "master bedroom" (the only room with 1 bed in it). The beds were mostly all comfortable, although the teens could be picky so I am not sure I would take their complaints all to seriously about the softness of the bunk beds... There are two bathrooms, but one is on the porch/deck so you have to leave the inside of the house to use it... not a big deal, just something to note. The outdoor living space is really the most amazing part of this apartment... it is large and has plenty of seating. We really enjoyed the hammocks all day long... and the bench/table thing we used at night to play cards/dominoes. There is a grill out on the deck/patio that we used to grill dinner a few nights while we were there. There is no oven... which is not a big deal... my husband is a baker and wanted to make my dad something while we were there. There is also no dryer... but plenty of clothing lines to dry your clothes.
There are a few shacks on the main route that is like 5 minutes away.. they have great food at decent prices. You must try some of the smoothies... the best we have ever had!
It was a little difficult to find the place once you need to turn off the main route... the directions say "mango tree" I had no idea what a mango tree looked like when we first got there... and there were no mangoes on the tree! LOL but we figured it out with the help of the people the owner had meet us.
It was overall an epic vacation... we enjoyed the beach 24/7... the kids even swam at night. We got to see baby turtles hatch right in front of the house... amazing. We had family come over and enjoy the beach and the amazing sunsets. The teens explored up and down the beach daily (it is a long and mostly secluded beach). There are tons of tiny crabs that come out at night... but they all run away... trust me - the teens tried to catch them several times ;-)
Stay at this place!! It is so worth it!
This is our second vacation renting this house. We get a big group of 5-6 families and rent 3 houses that are next to each other. The location is just perfect for us - situated right on the beach, quiet morning walks along the beach, and colourful local life. Only 20 minutes from public Crash Boat beach and beautiful Step Beach. Don't forget to visit local Panederia Eileen. Try the ribs and guava pastry. We sure will be coming again.
The house is as advertised: very spacious and comfortable. Lillian and Maximino were good landlords and easy to contact. This was our third time to PR but first time visiting Aguada and we will be back! The best thing about this house is the amazing terrace that provides beautiful ocean views. We enjoyed the hammocks, lounge chairs, and picnic table. The house is right on the beach and we spent many hours walking along the beach swimming and beachcombing. The beach front in the area is not very developed so there is a bit of a private, faraway, peaceful feeling. Definitely the vacation that we needed away from a cold upstate NY winter!
We mostly enjoyed the beach but also took a quick drive to Rincon and when we left to head to Luquillo, we stopped at the Camuy Caves. It was a great drive and definitely worth the stop!
Gracias, Lillian and Maximino!
