Points of Interest: Charco Azul an area with two lakes and Carite Forest a small rain forest Park, with paved paths, there are fresh water pools and streams to walk along all with in 20 min from the house. With beautiful mountain drive amazing views. A day excursion minutes from house. Bo. Guardarraya Patillas known as (The Emerald of the South) is known for its clean beautiful beaches, snorkeling, fishing and authentic Puerto Rican charm. There are several restaurants just a walk down the beach. World class golf resorts, Sport Fishing, Camuy Caves, Scuba, Horse back riding, and Hiking the El Yunque Rain Forest are all a short drive.
Shopping and Fresh Catch of the Day: Shopping, Groceries , restaurants, kayak and jet ski rentals are all under 5 min. away. This is an authentic little fishing village where the locals fish most everyday. Just ask and my property manager and she will gladly bring the fresh catch of the day right to your door. Lobster when in season or cut and cleaned fish. Another option for a bit more adventure you can also go down and meet our locals at the public beach marina just 5 minutes from the house. At about 12:30 pm when the fisherman come in, you can buy fish at incredible prices. They are very friendly and very much appreciate your buying their fish. Always proud of their catch, They will cut and clean it for you on the spot. You can then take it to the local road side restaurant across the street and they will cook it for you. Or of course you can take it home for that fresh catch of the day BBQ. There is truly no other town like this on the island.
We have two homes in this great little town side by side each with very private accommodations from each other. Or open a gate and large families can share a vacation using both homes.

All major Holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) are a 7 day minimum stay and run 10% to 25% higher than regular rates.

We travel quite a bit as empty nesters and wanted to find a home somewhere in the tropics. We bought in Puerto Rico, because it is a fresh clean green island and is US territory. Honestly the topography reminds us of a mini Costa Rica. With out the long flight and of course no passport needed for US citizens like us. It was the perfect fit for us as we had stayed on the island several times through the years and knew this is where we wanted to settle down. We are very American, and wanted a diverse culture like Puerto Rico has and still feel we are safe in our surroundings. Best of both worlds. I have felt at home there at every visit and then from the day we bought our property. We now know our nieghbors and local business owners in our little town. We bring them business and in turn they take care of us and our guests. We find our guests have always been made to feel welcome as well. We have had guests come and stay from all over the world!
We spent a month looking at over 40 homes on every side of Puerto Rico for just the right home to buy. When we saw this property we knew this was it. The location was amazing, right out of a story book and the house simply true Authentic Puerto Rican beach home. Spanish architecture, terrazzo floors, All concrete with a spanish verandah wrapped around this house. We just came in a gave it a good cleaning and great ammenities, with new windows, the central air etc. This old house needed TLC. We did just that! The house had great bones and charm. You can renovate a house. But of course NOT the location! The scenic views from the back yard were just breath taking. The location could not be beat. Now we have best of both worlds! A beautiful house full of charm and a location that dreams are made of. We are unigue in that we are truly on a sandy oceanfront property and the beach is lined as far as you can see both ways with Coconut palm trees. Not a tourist area, untouched beaches with sea shells all over the sand and such friendy people. We are glad that we have contributed by bringing business to this little fishing village, resturaunts, and shops. Authentic Puerto Rico at it's finest. We have been all over this tropical green island, and we know there is no place as beautiful as our little secret treasure on 'The Emerald of the South'
