Bromley & Stratton Ski Trip
Bromley & Stratton Ski Trip
Review Submitted: 04 March 2009
Date of Stay: February 2009
The house is very large and everyone was comfortable. We had 14 adults stay at the house on our Feb 2009 Ski trip.
The drive way is an incline & some non-4wd vehicles had a difficult time getting up to the house, but this was not fault of driveway snow removal/salting/sanding. Snow removal/salting/sanding was excellent and convenient.
The house is 3 min from Bromley, 15 min from Stratton, 15 min from Magic, and ~40 min from Okemo. You can see Bromley, Stratton and Magic from the living room window on clear days.
The owners are very friendly and accomadating as we had questions during our trip they were always available to help. The house has numerous board games and books to read as well as videos to watch. The hot tub and fireplace were definitely brownie points for the house. Not a single night did we go without lighting a fire and enjoy a dip to rest sore muscles. There is a ping pong table, fooseball and air hockey table down stairs that some in our group used.
The bedroom list on the website was somewhat misleading - UPSTAIRS are BR 1, 2 and 6; BR 1 (queen) is huge and shares a bath with BR 6 (bunk room); BR 6 actually has 2 singles and 2 bunks - but has room for a roll away bed. BR 2 actually has a double and a single. ABOVE GARAGE: BR 3 & 4 (both doubles) with BR 4 having a private bath. The futon room is basically a small family room above the garage without a door, so for large groups this is not the best location for privacy. 1st FLOOR: BR 5 (2 singles) is adjacent to the living room.
The dining room table was able to hold our entire group for nightly dinners. We are unable to comment on local restaurants as there was a fully stocked kitchen in terms of utensils/pots/pans and we had dinner every night at the house. Note - there is no jelly roll pan to bake wings on & recommend bringing your own tupperware/platic bags to store leftovers.
There are two grocery stores within 15 min of the house. There is a local liquor/beer distributor also ~15 min. Also, a convenience, garbage pick up is at the house in front of the garage, no need to drag the can(s) down to the end of the driveway, just make sure you separate out the recycling.
We liked the house and its quaint location and most likely will return for a yearly group trip.
