Our landmarked courtyard estate in the Nature Park Südeifel (near Luxembourg) offers a pretentious and relaxing accommodation. Spend your vacation in one of our 2 vacation houses of the charmingly renovated country estate from 1798 and enjoy the facilities of the present days. You can choose between 2 wonderful houses: an old bakery with 3 bedrooms on 125 m², and an old smithy with 2 bedrooms on 100 m². Both vacation apartments have romantic seats in the outdoor area, as well as place for children to play. Grilling possibilities are also available. On our estate, there is also a small river, our Nims, which offers a lot of fun for children (Rowing boat). In the old country house you can still find an original baking oven with firewood, which dates back to the times when the house was built. Experience with us, how bread and pizza is baked every second weekend in this oven.

The over 150 year old building of a former smithy belongs to our eppic courtyard, on the opposite side of the road. We changed this wonderful, antique building into a comfortable vacation house, which has also been distinguished with 4 stars. The house has 100 m², 2 bedrooms with 4 beds, and 1 extra sleeping accommodation in one bedroom. You can find here the same comfort you have in the bakery house. There is a big living room with Satellite TV, a modern, separate kitchen, a bathroom and a guest WC.

Messerich is located in the German-Luxembourgian Nature Park Suedeifel and was several times the winner of supra regional contests: for instance in 2002: the most beautiful village in Rheinland/Pfalz. Our courtyard is an ideal for culture and nature lovers. There are 30 km to Trier, the oldest city in Germany, and there are 5 km to the brewers’ town of Bitburg. A developed network of bike tracks leads over Messerich to the border river Sauer, and further to the border with Luxembourg, to Mosel, and Saar. Wonderful hiking trails lead you from our village to Bedhart. Very favoured is the wild, romantic Luxembourgian Switzerland. Moreover, there you can also see the storage lake of Bitburg, as well as the Echternacher Lake.

The Old Smithy is lovely, Messerich is an idyllic village, the apartment is really well equipped, a lot of thought has clearly gone into making a great comfy apartment, the owners are really helpful and very kind during our stay.

Myself and my son had great fun on the little river at the end of the garden, and if your feeling a little bit more energetic the cycle paths in the area are great, you are straight onto them from the village, Bitburg is a fairly easy stretch although we always drove the short trip when eating out.

If you are after some peace and relaxation I thoroughly recommend a stay at the Old Smithy,
