About Janet or Randy LaDue

Hi - We are Randy and Janet LaDue. Randy, moved to San Diego from Ventura to attend college at San Diego State in 1976. He has lived in San Diego ever since. I met Randy in 1978 through a mutual friend and he convinced me to move to San Diego in 1981 - I have been here ever since! San Diego offers us everything we want in a city from the beaches for swimming, surfing and tanning, to mountains for hiking and skiing. Downtown is beautiful and right on the water front. The weather is amazing and consistently mild. It is an awesome city!! We love to travel and have seen a lot of amazing places, but are always glad to call San Diego our home.

Janet or Randy LaDue purchased this house in 1989

Why Janet or Randy LaDue chose Mission Bay

We chose to buy this home in Bay Park because it had the view we were looking for and it is close to the beaches, downtown, airport, Sea World, the Zoo, Balboa Park, hiking in the mountains, and much more. Also, It is located near all of San Diego's major freeways for getting around easily and conveniently.

What makes this house unique

You will enjoy a view of the bay, ocean and beach-city lights from the front of the house. Step out the front door and go directly across the street to enjoy fireworks from Sea World on summer nights. The home has a lovely wooden beam ceiling, a floor to ceiling stone fireplace and a beautiful arched, stained glass window.

Couldn't be Happier with Our Stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed an utterly blissful two months in Randy and Janet's adorable, comfortable home. The cupboards were stocked with starter supplies, and it was clear that every possible need was anticipated, from lap throws for chilly evening tv watching and book reading to beach toys, towels, sunhats, even sunscreen. There was a bike rack supplied for our use and when the rains came, Randy brought over a tarp to protect our bikes. When it appeared there was no tea kettle or steamer basket for veggies, Janet ran right out and bought them for us to use. And when it seemed the unique stained glass window was keeping the living room too hot during one unseasonably hot period, they rushed over with extra fans. A little later they spent a good part of their valuable weekend time putting up film that deflected the heat away from the glass, but it did not detract from our enjoyment of the artglass. We really appreciated the use of an outdoor gas grill and washer and dryer, probably the two things most critical to making our stay "like home", and the offstreet parking made us feel very pampered. Being from blustery, cold Wyoming, it goes without saying that the glorious weather and the spectacular view from the front porch and yard were what drew us to San Diego in general and to their home in particular at this time of year. However Janet and Randy, who are beautiful, kind souls, are the reason we have already recommended renting this home to some of our friends.

Spring Break 2015

  • 5 of 5

The dates available were perfect for our spring break trip, and what a great home. So much better than a cramped hotel room. Janet and Randy have done such a nice job with this place and they were very helpful. Great location and affordable.

Owner's Response: Randy and I get such a kick out of sharing our home! We have met so many wonderful people!! It has been our experience as well that staying in a home for vacation instead of a hotel provides much more space and privacy, as well as more choices, like cooking at home (which can be a good option to eating out every night or ordering expensive room service, especially for a family with kids!), staying in and watching our favorite TV shows or playing a DVD (without the expense of renting from the hotel), or maybe playing cards at the large kitchen table. It would be a very rare occasion that we choose a hotel room over a rental from VRBO "+)

Our first trip to San diego

The house was in great shape, and the bedroom was beautiful. But We were kind of taken aback that there was no windows in the living room! Claustrophobic

Owner's Response: The window in the living room is a gorgeous piece of artwork; a large stained glass window that lets in lots of filtered light. It also adds a beautiful ambiance to the room and the overall theme of the home, which is "welcome", and "please, make yourself comfortable". Please, take a look at the photos :+) The pass through window from the living room to the kitchen also allows for light and air to circulate from the large sliding glass door that opens up onto the porch. As a bonus, we have added a security screen door to the front entrance so you can take advantage of the breeze that sweeps off the water and up our hill. All the comforts of "home".

Owner's Response: So glad you were comfortable! And happy to hear that everything you needed was there at the home. We really try to make it as easy as possible for our guests to enjoy vacation time with family and friends by making it easy to "stay in" for meals and entertainment if they so choose!

Enjoyed Our Stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time! Janet was awesome about staying in touch and helping to make sure we had everything we needed. The first thing my guests and I noticed when we walked into the house was how clean everything was. We appreciated that we could take comfort in knowing that the house had been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived.

The house is close to grocery stores, restaurants, and other amenities.

The house is comfortable and the beds offer a good night's sleep. There is plenty of parking.

My friends and I all met up at the house before heading out to our dinner reservation at the Gas Lamp. It worked perfect as a central meeting location because it was easy to find and made it a safe way for me and my over night guests to enjoy my birthday. We met up, dressed up, carpooled with a DD, and then had a safe warm place to call home at the end of the night when we got dropped off.

Thank you for making my first renting experience a good one.

Winding your way up Baker St.

Great, quiet neighborhood and a central location. Randy and Janet have a very tidy home that's close to everything. If your going to SD, this is the house you should rent. Plenty of room for our family of 5.
