Nice lake stay
All in all this was a fun, accessible lake house. Bobbie met us when we arrived. The house has all the items you need for your stay, it is clean and kept up. We brought a boat and launched at the public launch. The dock is nice and you can park your trailer by the house. Bring your towable up to the house though, we had someone try to steal ours. The house is roomy with 3 bedrooms, a sofa sleeper in the living room and a rollaway provided. There are 3 bathrooms, all with showers and plenty of towels and sheets provided. The house has no AC but like explained if you keep the house closed up during the day the nights cool everything down and fans are provided in each room. I guess the only thing that we didn’t like was that we were unable to check in until 4:00pm(which is stated) but when we arrived there was a huge group using the dock and beach. There is another small rental on the property that is listed with this house but we were told it was the owners family. The thing we have issue with was that it’s listed as private and you are paying to rent by the day and we felt that was not what was excepted when we got there. It was like renting on a public beach. However, by the next day we had the privacy we were looking for and it was quiet till we checked out. Check out time is very early (10:00am) and there is expectation to help wash linens. Stripping beds in VRBO rentals is the norm but not washing everything you use. If this is expected then a later check out time would be nice. There is no cleaning deposit returned it’s just a fee that is tacked on to the rental payment. I feel like if your are doing the cleaning then a deposit would be better suited in the situation. All in all we had a wonderful time at the Old Sacheen resort!!

Annual Famiky Trip
We loved the location and the house accommodated us well. We had a miscommunication with a second cabin to rent so was not happy to find out it had been rented but luckily there was another cabin available to use although it was an unfortunate surprise to have to pay more when all reservations were made and paid in February. All in all the property was beautiful and we really enjoyed the lake and quality family time.

Family Reunites!
My husband and I live in Michigan and our son and his family live in Tumtum. This was a perfect spot for us to all be together for a week. The airport is only an hour away. Bobbie met us on arrival, was very welcoming and gave us a tour inside and out. The house was very clean and fit our needs perfectly. It has a five star view of the beautiful lake. The grounds gave the kids plenty of area to explore. The row boat got plenty of use and we were grateful for all the sizes of PFD’s to choose from. My son took us on a couple of afternoon road trips to picturesque areas in Washington and Idaho. There were some cold, rainy/snowy days but the roomy house accommodated us nicely. On the nice days we put our feet in the water and enjoyed bonfires in the evening. Great memories!

Why they chose this property

When our children were little this was a very busy resort. My In-laws took their trailer up at the beginning of the summer and then other members of the family would go up and camp or just go for the day. There was a large camping area, some cabins, and a restaurant out by the road. Lots of companies held their company picnics there. We have had numerous people stop by to share their memories of the time they spent at Sacheen Lake Resort. One of our sons drove by one day and saw the for sale sign and we bought it. That was almost 17 years ago.

What makes this property unique

We enjoy watching the eagles and ospreys fly over and sometimes dive for food. Occasionally, we see a heron sitting at the end of the dock. There is a beaver that just moved into the stream that runs on one side of the property, turtles and a few times we have seen deer come down for a drink. I enjoy the view. The house and cabins are set back from the lake and there is a large expanse of lawn between the houses and the beach and we just have a wonderful view of the whole end of the lake. This is a piece of property that we could never replace. We have 7 acres of lake view property! We are truly blessed.
