Guestbook comments from the owner
My husband and I stayed at the cabin July 9th and 10th

We had beautiful weather and the lake was beautiful.

The cabin has everything you need for your stay.

We enjoy sitting out on the screened porch just relaxing .

Beautiful Kenny 's beach is just down the road.

Soundview Ave is a wonderful road to take a walk, jog or

bike ride. There is plenty to see and do in Greenport and lots

vineyards, farm stands ,shops and restaurants.

The cabin is a great place for a family with children or couples.

We also appreciate that it is a dog friendly rental.

The Ullman s keep the house clean and tidy!

My husband I look forward to renting again.

delightful and relaxing getaway

  • 5 out of 5
My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at the cottage on the lake. We loved the well-stocked, spacious kitchen and the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Judith and Yehudit were incredibly thoughtful and helpful during and even after our stay. After I forgot my memory foam pillow there, they brought back to the city for me and worked to ensure that it was easy for me to retrieve. The cottage had everything we needed, including even good books, bikes, and a humongous pot for our lobster boil. We enjoyed cooked, exploring nearby beaches, and visiting the many vineyards that were within minutes by bike. I highly recommend this rental and I look forward to staying there again soon!

Wonderful Weekend!

  • 5 out of 5
After reading several positive reviews, I knew this was the perfect place to celebrate my 27th birthday. I immediately called Judith to find out the reservation process. She not only answered all of my questions, but provided additional information on nearby activities. The cabin was everything I expected and more! My friends and I grilled, went out on the lake, relaxed in the hammock, and overall enjoyed a quiet weekend away from home. We also visited Lenz Winery which was amazing to say the least. I could not have asked for a better birthday weekend. I plan to visit again.

Lovely, relaxed get away on the sound

  • 5 out of 5
My four friends and I went for a wine tasting weekend. The cottage was in great proximity to all the wineries on our agenda. It was secluded on a small pond, and had a kayak for a morning paddle. The beach facing west towards Connecticut was 1/2 mile away, and we enjoyed a morning jog and ocean dip (despite the cold water) before setting out for the day. The house itself was laid out perfectly for a group of friends. The kitchen was open to the living area, and the extra bathroom was perfect as 5 of us got ready at once. We really enjoyed the experience, and would recommend a visit to anyone looking for a break from the city in a secluded and quaint spot.

This place is Heavenly!!!

Staying at the Cabin On The Pond was a fantastic experience! The owners were very helpful, accommodating & accountable & tried to make you feel very much at home at their haven. The home was clean, well equipt, well~appointed & cozy. The property was so peaceful & organic... I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who loves nature & tranquility. As a native Long Islander, I swear that I felt like I had traveled back in time to the Long Island of days goneby... it was a wonderful experience on all counts & I can't wait to return... Thanks again to the owners for sharing this treasure with us

Perfect Memorial Day Weekend

  • 5 out of 5
I couldn't have asked for a better Memorial Day Weekend than the one we had at the cabin.

The property is so lovely, clean, and relaxing, perfect for a small group of us who wanted a weekend getaway from the city. We brought our bikes and spent the three days meandering from beach to beach, vineyard to vineyard. Leave your windows open at night, and be prepared for a SYMPHONY from the wildlife, in addition to a perfect sweet, cool breeze that will really set your spirits straight!

Was lucky to be in touch with the owners throughout - very pleasant, and so helpful!

If you're thinking about booking this little gem, do NOT hesitate, but, you will be very sad to leave...

Will definitely come to the cottage again.

Cozy getaway

  • 4 out of 5
This was my first time using VRBO and I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm thrilled to say I had a lovely 2-night stay in May (2 people and our dog)--everything is as described and as the photos/reviews show, and owner is very accommodating and responsive. Plenty of room, very cabin-homey, clean, and it feels quite secluded while still in a neighborhood. Has all of the amenities you need--loved the fireplace while watching movies in the evening after grilling dinner, and the paddleboat on the lake by day! We were there at the end of an extremely rainy week in May so it was a bit buggy outside, but nothing out of the ordinary when you stay at a lake house. Great location as you're in between Jamesport and Riverhead and near all the wineries, so definitely have a car to take advantage of everything in the area. Would recommend as a place to stay for a quick getaway to the North Fork.

Notes:
The Great Room is open plan - living room, kitchen & eating area. The knotty pine walls evoke the woods outside & give a feeling of a real country cabin. The fireplace can change the physical or emotional temperature. The kitchen is fully set up - all electric. We leave you a nice assortment of teas - black, green & herbal; regular & decaf coffees plus the fixings and some food & spices. Feel free to take one and leave one of the books. We want you to be able to relax & feel at home. Outdoors, the kayak, pedalboat, and rowboat are there to explore Great Pond. No gas boats are allowed. Laze on the floats or tube. The hammocks are built for two each. There are bikes in the shed - even some fold-ups easy to take along on local adventures. You can set up the croquet set. Barbecue some fish from a local spot or that you have caught. Over half of our one acre property is wetlands, protected by the D.E.C. & Southold Township under a covenant with the king of England in the 16th century
