Hali’i Kai oceanfront homes are located on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii’s Big Island, approximately 18 miles from the Keahole Kona International Airport. Birthplace of the great King Kamehameha I, tales of the favored status of this stretch of the island are legend. Blessed with a scant ten inches of rainfall annually, most days here are sun drenched and cooled by the breezes of Anaehoomalu Bay. Imagine gazing across the beautiful Pacific and spending your day watching whales as they frolic in our Hawaiian waters.

Hali’i Kai is the newest luxury resort at the Waikoloa Beach Resort with all the features you want, but often times impossible to find on the Kohala Coast. What makes this condo unique

Oceanfront pool and restaurant are a big treat. Exercising is never fun but at Halii Kai you can exercise and enjoy watching the whales arcing directly in front of you. Almost takes the pain away! The property is miticulously kept and the people are very friendly. The weather is nice all year round.

Perfect home away from home!

We stayed here for 5 nights during a last minute trip to Hawaii. We have infant twins and really wanted a place with a view, close proximity to the pool and a kitchen/washer/dryer-- it had it all and more! Peggy was great to work with and even bought a new pack'n'play for us to use as all of hers were currently reserved with other rentals of hers. The unit was immaculate and stocked with absolutely everything we needed and more. We will absolutely recommend this to our family and friends and hope to return next time we are in Hawaii!

Excellent Seashore Experience

This condo in the Hali’i Kai complex of Waikoloa Beach Resort was an ideal seaside experience. The view from the unit is the sea, the a’a lava seashore and only the sea and seashore. It is on the ground floor. We could sit in the lanai and feel that we alone lived here. The furniture and appointments complimented the setting.

There are appliances and instruments to make any kind of meal or drink of which you can think. Every appliance is top quality. You just want to laugh and play a game attempting to identify a “needed” item that is not there or just does not “work.”

In addition, when we prepared to go to the beach or some other adventure we discovered that everything we needed was there: beach towels, coolers (three sizes), chairs, umbrellas, snorkel equipment, boogie boards. And, they were not just an assortment of old stuff left behind; rather each type of equipment was a top quality set. The attention to details and quality was wonderful and remarkable. This is the second condo we have rented from this owner. This one too did not disappoint.

An important advantage of this condo was its location. We could gain access to an historic seaside trail only about 200 feet from our lanai. The excellent Hal’i Kai pool was only a three minute walk away. The pool restaurant, incidentally, served an excellent dinner. The Kings Court and Queens Court in the resort area provided great shopping opportunities and a wide assortment of restaurants. A five minute drive away, just south of the Marriot Resort and near Queens Court is a very desirable beach, ‘Anaeho’omalu Bay. Only about 15 minutes away is the best beach on the island (some travel agents have declared it the best beach in America). Hapuna Beach has been our favorite for years. Realistically, because The Big Island is so large, the centrality of the condo should be assessed in terms of the West side. For the most part, every site and activity from Hawi in the north to Kealakekua Bay in the south can be visited within about one hour from the condo.

We highly recommend this vacation home and when we return to the Big Island in the future will attempt to rent it again.

Amazing property

My wife and I stayed at the condo for our honeymoon in June. The property is as pictured and absolutely beautiful. Peggy has equipped the condo extremely well with high end appliances and quality finishes. We had an amazing trip and a wonderful stay.

Aloha! We stayed here in June 2014 and absolutely loved it! The location is perfect. The unit is NOT a tiny condo with some mini kitchen. This is a place you could live in all year. Fully equipped kitchen. With a good arm you could literally throw a stone into the ocean if you tried. The pool/restaurant/bar (11:30am-7:30pm) and workout facilities (6:30am-9:30pm) are just one building down. No, you won't hear any noise from it or from any neighbors. The staff is super friendly, the food is good. The pool is a perfect temperature. The view is awesome especially from the workout room. (The equipment is enough to get you by.) Ok, let's get to the details. 4 of us stayed comfortably. We spent $250 on groceries for 10 days and ate in 2 of 3 meals per day. Eating out cost average $20 pp no matter where we went. All meals were 4 people. We only drink water. Places I loved: Hapuna Beach: AWESOME. Bring the boogie boards, cooler, settle in for the day ($5 park). Town of Hawi: Loved it. Little shops, ice cream, gem store, loved every bit of it. Kailua Village/Alii Dr. 1x mo. street fair: cool, laid back, met locals, fun day, shopped, musicians, artists, had awesome food at Kona Canoe Club with great view ($78+tip). Hilo/Volcano ($10 entry): Best scenic drive! Got post cards at volcano and dropped them at tiny post office on the route. Cafe Pesto in Hilo at the beachfront for lunch. Very good. ($58+tip). Back home - Lava lava beach club: great place to hang out. Very good food. ($76+tip.) When in Rome...in our case...go to a Luau! Hilton Waikoloa Luau was mentioned in the local paper found at Starbucks at the Queen shops. ($79pp with "holo holo discount card" from activities desk) Luau was better than expected. We all loved it!!! $42 for a small set of souvenir pictures. All in all, we left our beautiful 14c happier and definitely calmer after having enjoyed such a pleasant stay. I would stay here again and I would happily stay at another Peggy property.

Quiet, Serene Oceanfront condo

Our second time renting from Peggy: she is the most organized and conscientious owner we have ever dealt with! No details have been missed, from the wonderfully comfortable bed with quality linens, plush towels in plentiful supply, Keurig coffee-maker/pods too! Everything you need for a trip to the beach is provided and more.
We were able to view whales from the lanai, even this late in May...beautiful sighting!
Highly recommend this condo to everyone, pickiest please apply!
