Wonderful family house fully furnished with all the amenities that you would expect in your own home. Built in 1904 and beautifully restored. Home has nice architectural details such as original plaster moulding, heart-pine hardwood floors, french doors opening to a wonderful porch where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and experience new orleans like a new orleanian !!! Charming home in a classic neighborhood that is convenient to so many attractions such as Audubon park/zoo/golf course/tennis courts. The st. charles ave. street car is a short 3 block walk. Historic Magazine st. is only 6 blocks. Very convenient area with easy access to uptown (Tulane & Loyola universities), carrollton/riverbend, downtown/warehouse district & the historic garden district and french quarter. Hundreds of restaurants within a few minutes. The bedrooms are independent (THIS IS NOT A SHOTGUN HOUSE) and there is a sofa bed which allows for 2 more to sleep (house sleeps 6 total). washer/dryer is inside for your convenience. Home has a fully equipped kitchen with all appropriate cooking utensils, microwave, coffee pot and blender.

My husband and I have been married for 10 years and have 3 young children, 6 yrs.,4 yrs., and 1 yr. we have had the pleasure of staying in countless B & B's, VRBO's and cabins. This property is hands down a 5-star experience. All the sheets, towels, linens, pillows and kitchen equipment are brand new. The house is as clean as it can be and best of all, it is clutter-free. Simply elegant and not meant for the Bourbon Street Rebel Rouser. True New Orleans Architecture. Great location!,

Charming Home

This is a great house with a wonderful location! I was a little worried about being right across the street from a little grocery store, but it closes at 6 or 7, so no late night noise or traffic. The store has everything you might need, and a liquor store was within walking distance down the street. The house is as pictured-nice bedrooms and beautiful bathrooms. Everything we needed was there-well, stocked kitchen, linens, and even wood for the fireplace for a cool January stay. The home itself is charming and has been refinished while still keeping the original beauty. We will definitely stay again on our next visit to New Orleans!

Beautiful House is great location

Couldn't believe we stubbled on the beautiful house is a great location! We used it as a getaway for 3 couples for my sons baptism weekend. I am from the area originally but have moved away. My family still loves there (in Metairie) and we love to stay in town whenever we get a chance. This was a perfect relaxing house for old friends to reunite and spend some quality kid-free time together (while the kids were at the grandparent house). The house was impeccably clean and decorated like a perfect New Orleans home. Love all the architectural details! I felt as though I was really staying in someone's home. Only critique would be the sofa bed wasn't very comfortable--but haven't ever slept in one that was so we were expecting it...

Great accommodation and location!

Fine old house, everything you need including the wonderful backyard and barbecue dining area. Having Langteins grocery across the road is a huge benefit. Short walk to the St. Charles streetcar line. Highly recommend this location after our first but not last visit to NOLA. Very smooth transaction. Thanks Steve for sharing your home!

Fanastic house, location and management.

This is beautiful home that was exactly as described. It's in a fantastic location and is fully equipped for a comfortable stay. The property was clean and the owner was very responsive to all our questions. Langenstein's is an excellent grocery store with delicious prepared foods and is literally a stone's throw from this house. We were visiting New Orleans for our daughter's engagement party. She lives in the area and we'll be back as often as possible, and hope to stay here. We loved this place!

Classic NOLA Flair

Our multi-week stay in this property met all of our high expectations. We've rented several fine houses in NOLA, and this house delivered more fun than any of the others. The two outdoor amenities can't be topped: a spacious front porch for lounging, plus the substantial attraction of a covered outdoor grill and dining area in the expansive backyard. Inside, the high ceilings, beautiful crown molding and fine wood floors are highlighted by fabulous light throughout the house. The large, well appointed dining room complements the fully equipped kitchen. And the lagniappe is Steve, the attentive owner, who will do whatever it takes to maximize your stay. Do not give a second thought to the prior reviewer who suggested that this neighborhood lacks security. He or she clearly knows nothing about NOLA -- anyone who does knows that this is one of the very nicest and safest areas of the entire city or of any city. You'll love your stay in Uptown.
