Welcome to Guadalupe River Lodge, a spectacular lodge consisting of 8 bedrooms in the large house plus separate one bedroom cottage with kitchen and bath. Also included are an upper and lower decks with jet ski ramp and space for two boats. We are not responsible for any damages to boats or jet skis should you decide to bring them. Anything that happens in the water is not the owner's responsibility.
This lodge caters to people who enjoy being outside on a beautiful winding river and who want to be able to sleep a large number of family members. Two of the bedrooms have french doors that open out to a patio that overlooks the winding Guadalupe River. When you use the canoes, you can travel up and down the river viewing homes and farms on both sides. The river is quiet with few if any motorized boats.
This home is located on MeadowLake, the 4th lake in a chain of 4 lakes on the Guadalupe River. Lake Dunlap, Lake McQueeney, and Lake Placid are just upstream. Being a little farther away from the Canyon Dam and Canyon Lake allows you to be away from the hustle and bustle of the large crowds. Go home to a nice relaxing place where Mother Ducks, baby ducks and geese float calmly beside your dock. Bring your boat, canoe, kayak, jet skis, or fishing gear and enjoy the river. Relax or get together on the huge concrete patio overlooking the widest part of the Guadalupe River. Or fish from the lower wooden deck just inches from the water.
You will stay in a 8 bedroom, fully furnished home with everything you need to relax in comfort, surrounded by Nature's Beauty and beautiful art work, close to everything needed to meet your vacation rental needs. I do have extra accomidations available for larger parties and weddings. Our secret garden is enclosed with space and seating for large groups. There is a separate private cottage should you need a small private space which can also be rented.
We are located close to great tubing on the Comal River and the Guadalupe River, and the Schlitterbahn, the Largest and Best Waterpark in the United States. And only a short drive to Gruene(pronounced 'Green') Hall, the oldest operating Dance Hall in Texas, where John Travolta danced in his beautiful white angel wings in the movie 'Michael'. If shopping interests you, you can visit one of the largest outlet malls in nearby San Marcos. San Antonio is less than an hour away, if you are interested in seeing the Alamo or enjoying some time on the scenic downtown San Antonio Riverwalk. Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Seaworld are only a 40 minute drive away. The world famous McNay Museum and several other museums in San Antonio are worth the trip. There is a intertube shuttle that will pick you team up at the property, supply you with the intertube, and after you float the river, they will bring you back home.

BECAUSE I HAD LIVED IN HAWAII AND THIS PROPERTY REMINDED ME OF HAWAII WITH THE WATER AND THE BIG BEAUTIFUL TREES!
We've returned home after our two months of travels and I'm reflecting on places we've enjoyed and
especially those we'd like to revisit. It was a pleasure to find the Guadalupe River Lodge on a quiet,
natural part of a major Texas River that was not crowded. Canoeing, paddle boating, fishing and being in
lovely quiet was refreshing. We've traveled enough to want to avoid the sterile hotel atmosphere and
found this lodge more like being at home but with our own river to experience in a number of ways. The
beds, furniture were comfortable, and the rooms clean, cozy with two T.V.'s - one for a large number of
people. A kitchen had everything for cooking and a really great Mexican Restaurant nearby. Also, the old town of Gruene about 15 miles away with lots of interesting art, food, misc."country" shops and the old, original dance hall that was in the movie Michael (John Travolta). Not "touristy". Great river float
trips here over a faster flowing part of the river. A water slide park is nearby to Gruene especially for
kids. Lots of people staying in New Braunfels so we much preferred the Guadalupe River Lodge.
Very relaxing lodge on the lake! Quiet & peaceful surroundings. Spacious outdoor patio, right on the water. New Corian kitchen, georgeous electric fireplace & very comfortable leather sofas. Hostess was friendly & attentive to guests' needs & requests. Conference room looked like a great place for business meetings. Highly recommend this lodge!
The view and the sunset were spectacular. We enjoyed having a quiet meal on the huge deck by the river, and the dog enjoyed wandering around without a leash. It was too early to play in the river, but we look forward to returning this summer, so we can fully enjoy all that this lovely place has to offer. The leather couches downstairs were quite comfortable for conversations or private reading time. Vanessa was very friendly and made us feel welcomed.
Myself and a group of friends stayed at the Guadalupe River Lodge in mid November 2013. We enjoyed the spacious grounds, and the beautiful views, from balconies, and the master bedroom...and yes, the honeymoon cottage...with its French doors that opened up to a balcony, where we sat and enjoyed bloody Mary's, minosa's and wine while we enjoyed the spectacular views both at sunrise and sunset...
We were pleased to discover that we were able to enjoy our favorite football games over the weekend and with numerous TV's we could enjoy viewing the shows we each liked. The grounds were spacious, and the house was roomy, so we could have private conversations, as well as meals with friends, and guests who joined us.The kitchen enabled us to prepare meals, and the close proximity to city's and towns enabled us to eat out at local restaurants, and to shop.
We are already making plans to stay at the lodge in the spring...
For those who wish to enjoy a relaxing get-away from it all experience, at any time of the year, I recommend the Guadalupe River Lodge.
The neighborhood was very quiet and the residents were friendly. The back yard is beautiful with a deck that is spacious with plenty of seating. The canoes were a nice touch and we enjoyed them. The house is big and has plenty of beds and bedrooms. The Kitchen up stairs did have a fridge, full oven, plenty of spoons, a blender, and two coffee makers. There are three different kitchen tables with seating for about 15 people. Bonus the kitchen down stairs also had a fridge and kitchen table. Offers a Beautiful view of the Guadalupe River
*The house was dirty; I spent the first two hours of my vacation cleaning the kitchen.
*The lights in the kitchen were burnt out and we had to replace them.
*The kitchen is not fully stocked. (no forks)
*The floors were filthy (our feet were black) had to wear shoes.
*The house smells of mold and the bathrooms were dirty.
*The house had flying roaches, spiders, and mosquitos.
With two very easy fixes this house would be a perfect get away.
21 people stayed 3 nights for a family reunion. Was just right for our family. Plenty of beds. The house seems disjointed/strangely arranged at first but we settled in & it was great. The deck was perfectt for the adults to gather after putting the children to bed. Seguin has a great wave pool and Amusement park much smaller but much cheaper than Schlitterbahn. Just what we needed and didn't have to stand in the long lines. Ate twice at Casa Sol just down the road it was that good. A recommendation from the home owner. Will stay again.

There is a jet ski and boat dock if your would like to bring them. This property is also great for fishing. You are welcome to bring your canoe or kayak.
