About James Carter
My wife Carrie is a physician's assistant in Winchester Ky. I am a pastor of a local church in lexington and work as a physical therapist to support our ministry. Carrie graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2001 and I graduated from UK in 2002. We have one amazing daughter named Christy Ann. Our family lives in Lake Cumberland Resort so you can often find us down at the Lake. We hope you enjoy our home! God Bless.
James Carter purchased this chalet in 2007
Why James Carter chose Kentucky
We chose to purchase this home because my (jimmy) family retired from Atlanta to the Resort. We knew that we would be spending a lot of time at the lake and also wanted to provide a place for our friends and church members to stay when they needed a break from the stress of the world. Lake Cumberland Resort provided that sanctuary needed. It has been a joy to provide a place for friends and family to come and stay!
What makes this chalet unique
The best part of coming back to our home is the rest and peace. Unless it's peak season and the boat ramp is in operation, it's extremely quiet in our gated community. Of course, it's always great to spend time with our family, but we also love the time alone. We especially enjoy the late nights in the hot tub and the late mornings on the deck with coffee in hand. Having a TV and DVD player allows our daughter to watch all her favorite movies while we relax. Above all, we enjoy the walks through the woods. Some of the views here are incredible.
Guestbook comments from the owner
The family that owns this home allowed us to use this chalet for our student ministry volunteers who were leading a youth retreat for the weekend. We had never been to Lake Cumberland Resort before and most of our youth workers are use to "roughing it." We had no idea how nice this place was going to be. There were two bedrooms downstairs and then two more beds upstairs in the loft across from the pool table. Most of our leaders could be found in the hot tub till 1 or 2 in the morning relaxing and sharing stories from the day. The changing colors of the trees and peaceful environment provided some amazing quiet time for reflection. We brought a trailer with our sound equipment and props for the retreat which we were able to store in the large storage facility that comes with the rental of this home. We are hoping to come back in the summer with one of our volunteers ski boats. This place is beautiful!
