About this property

Watersedge Cottage on Picturesque Maine Coast

Enjoy an unique, very private water-front setting in a small and cozy chalet, twenty-five feet from the water's edge.

This property is a virtual wildlife setting; a portion of Petit Manan Refuge is just around Jetteau Point The cottage enjoys beautiful views to the Sally Islands and open ocean on Gouldsboro Bay.

From the deck you can enjoy close observation of grey heron, bald eagles, gulls, loon and numerous other waterfowl. Listen to the seals croak in the deadness of the still night as the full moon rises over the bay. When the winds and waves predict, fall sleep to the sound of water washing up on shore, virtually under your ears.

The cottage is simple, with two full baths with shower, one up and one down. It has an adequate kitchen, comfortable queen-size bed up, pull-out couch or futon down. Cottage has been recently remodeled with Russian pine floors up and antique maple wood floors downstairs. This cottage is idea for a couple or small family.

Owner has adjacent dwelling on property which is occupied seasonally by owner and his veteran cat.

A Quiet Meditative Retreat
This charming cottage is on a bird-rich cove on Gouldsboro Bay. Exquisite sunrises and moonrises. It's comfortable and well-equipped. The host is genial and always willing to offer help. We highly recommend Watersedge.

Love the A-Frame
This is a beautiful area of Maine. The A-frame provides picturesque views of the bay and glorious sunrises to greet you in the morning. It’s a beautiful spot to get away from civilization. We enjoyed evenings by the fire and days exploring the region. Scott was a great host.

A frame in Gouldsboro
Beautiful spot right on the ocean. Very rustic, well loved cottage. Had everything we needed, comfortable, close to so many things to do and see. Rally nice to see the changing tides and swim at high tide from the dock. Very poor internet, and the bugs! Not much I think you can do about either, and the bugs were only bad from dusk on through the night.

15th Wedding Anniversary
This is a very secluded and quiet A Frame cabin on the bay. It has amazing views and is so peaceful. The wharf is nice to sit on to enjoy the beautiful view. We watched lobster boats check traps in the mornings and enjoyed drinking our coffee on the porch overlooking the water just feet from us. When the tide is up you can hear the water right off the porch. Every morning was a beautiful view from the bedroom window. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful vacation this is the place to stay. It is roughly 1 hour from Bar Harbor which we appreciated not being in the middle of the crowds once we were done for the day. There are several things to do between the cabin and Bar Harbor. The National Park has so many trails and lakes and just anything outdoors you wanna do. Do yourself a favor and stay here. Scott the owner is a very nice man who gave us several tips on restaraunts and things to do. Very attentive and is there for any questions or needs. Perfect place for a couple to spend some alone time together and unwind.

Rustic paradise
My husband and I are both veterans and we enjoyed a week away in Maine at the AFrame cabin. We visited Bangor and Bar Harbor while staying and was within 50-60 minutes from each. Tranquility and beauty arrived as soon as we entered our destination for the week and we enjoyed the wildlife and beauty of the point while staying there. If you are looking to unplug and find yourself looking at the water and scenery in a rustic and quiet place then this is where you should be.

After spending summers in Maine since 1977 , working The Windjammers and yachting for many years, I found this area of Maine to be unique. Away from the hustle and bustle of the major tourist areas, but within a short car or ferry trip to Bar Harbor I finally found my true coastal piece of Maine. Purchased in 2002, I have spent summers remodeling the cottage and enjoying the true Maine.
