About Grainne.

I'm Gráinne, originally from Co. Kildare and raised in a small family run hotel. I am married to Tim who is now retired from An Garda Siochána (Irish Police).

Tim and I purchased this property in 1986 and lived here for a number of years until our family grew and we needed to relocate.

We loved living in this area and have many happy memories of our first home here.

I have consistently worked in the hospitality industry and always wanted to provide holiday accommodation here as I felt this to be an ideal location. I have been lucky enough to have realized my dream.

I pay particular attention to detail and set the highest of standards in cleanliness and customer care.

Our aim is to ensure that you really feel at home and comfortable in our apartment and we will endeavor to assist you in any way with any aspect of your vacation, so that you get the most out of your trip to Dublin.

We are at the end of the phone 24 hours a day if you need any assistance.

Assuring you of our best attention.

Grainne. purchased this apartment in 1986

Why Grainne. chose Dublin

We chose this location because of close proximity to downtown Dublin.

We loved the period red brick property with large rooms.

Fantastic large enclosed rear which is very private and unusual for a city centre property.

Easy access to any part of the countryside and still only 10 minutes from downtown.

Nice residential old part of Dublin with true Dublin characters in abundance.

Settled community with lots of nice neighbors whom you can be sure will speak to you if you bump into them.

All facilities such as banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, butchers, gas station, restaurants, pubs, hair and beauty salons, dry cleaners, etc on the street.

Super public transport with the Luas and Dublin bus.

What makes this apartment unique

The most unique benefit is the location.

Only 10 minutes from downtown Dublin with that real at home feeling when you arrive back after your day out.

The house was built in the 1800's and has a lovely spacious and tranquil feeling to it.

I love the large rooms and high ceilings with the original coving and open fire which is really cozy on a Winter's evening.

In the Summer time, we enjoyed many barbeques out back, and found it peaceful and quiet.

One huge benefit and highly unusual in a city apartment is the amount of both indoor and outdoor space.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Bay apartment last week from late aug through Labor day weekend. It was heaven. Beautifully furnished. Clean. Everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We rented a car, so the spacious yard with gated fence gave us peace of mind that it would be safe.

The appliances in the flat were so convenient. We did laundry almost everyday and the clothes came out wonderful. I cooked and found everything I needed at my fingertips...well except for pepper!! Lol!! The bathroom is big and spacious and I was surprised by the excellent water pressure and plentiful hot water!! The bedroom was also large and had plenty of outlets so we could charge our phones and things. The living room was cozy and we were able to spend our last nights relaxing in front of the fire.

Grainne and Tim were attentive to our needs, while giving us plenty of privacy. Tim sent a man spot quick to fix the hose leak on the shower and Grainne had her caretaker put keys in the lock box when we accidentally locked ourselves out!! She was always available by text to answer our questions including where to get fireplace supplies! The gentleman at the back of the property even remotely opened the back gate for us one morning!!

Inchicore is a wonderful little village. We felt comfortable walking around even at night. The Italian restaurant in town was amazing! Romantic and delicious

food. The village is close to local attractions such as Guiness Storehouse, Drimnaugh Castle and Kilmainham Gaol and the M50 motorway, so we were able to go anywhere we wanted with

ease.

This apartment is so comfortable and amazing, we felt at home within hours and hated leaving yesterday morning! We will definitely stay here again upon a revisit to Ireland. Everything was just perfect!!

Wonderful Apartment

  • 5 out of 5
Our family of 4 enjoyed our week stay in the Bay Apartment. It had everything we needed and was conveniently located in a wonderful neighborhood. We were able to walk, take the Luras, or DART to anywhere we wanted to go in Dublin and places like Howth. There is a Catholic church located next to the apartment which was very handy for our family. On the church grounds is a park where you can walk, which we did most mornings. There are a few stores located nearby and they served us well. Two restaurants we enjoyed were Enoteca Torino - delicious italian food and The Black Lion - hearty pub food. Rory brought us to and from the airport and gave us information about the area along with some background on hurling! Valerie also was helpful about what to do in Dublin, especially in the Temple Bar area. We were even fortunate to meet Tim. :) We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the bathroom and that we had an indoor laundry room that was for our use only. Thank you for giving us the right start on our month long “European Adventure”!

Our home away from Home!

  • 4 out of 5
We loved our 8 night stay in The Upstairs Apartment! Although, getting to Ireland was an awful experience (thanks to American Airlines). It was very comfortable for the four of us. We were happy to find the apartment exactly like the pictures, and the location was in a wonderful area, with easy access to the downtown area. Everything, you could imagine needing for a stay away from home was already thought of and close at hand. We took the Luas everywhere we went. We loved, and enjoyed the Italian restaurant and The Black Lion pub immensely. Here is a tip for you, if you do not mind walking, should you go on the Hop on Hop off bus tour. Get off at Kilmainham Gaol and walk the 15 minutes to the apartment save on the bus/Luas fare. The owner (Gráinne) was in constant contact with us, the caretaker (Valerie), and the taxi driver (Rory) were most helpful. We felt like we were in good hands. We will be back to stay in Inchicore, Dublin. We would encourage anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable, relaxing, and convenient place to stay in Dublin, to definitely stay at the Old World apartments. Thanks again Grainne and Team!

Home Away From Home

  • 5 out of 5
We loved our six night stay in the Grace Gifford cottage! It was very comfortable for the four of us and our girls certainly made use of the wifi. We were happy to find the cottage exactly like the pictures, and was in a wonderful area - easy to access the downtown area (whether by public transit or by car which we had) and the highways for day trips outside Dublin. Graine and Tim were wonderful and willing to help with whatever questions we had. We loved Kilmainham Gaol, and enjoyed the Italian restaurant and pub nearby immensely. Definitely have to return to take advantage of more of the attractions nearby. We would encourage anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable, relaxing, and convenient place to stay in Dublin to definitely stay at the Old World apartments. Thanks again Graine and Tim!

We spent a long weekend in this lovely apartment. Everything you could imagine needing for a stay away from home was already thought of and close at hand. Transport links with the city centre are great and the drive from the airport very easy. Would love to visit again.

Excellent apartment

  • 5 out of 5
Delighted with our recent stay at Tigh Tirconaill. Everything was spot on. The apartments are very well maintained, fresh, clean and comfortable. Plenty of information before arrival to ensure our stay in Dublin reached its full potential. Short bus or tram ride from downtown and super easy to get around the city. Did the Dublinia trail and also the Phoenix Park for some stress free time. Great to have the wifi and all in all would highly recommend. Thank you to Tim and Grainne and hope to see you soon again.
