From its external balcony, you can appreciate the beauty of narrow streets . Only a few meters away, you will come across the famous bronze statue 'La Gorda' by the renown sculptor and painter Botero. You can also enjoy different cultural performances on the square, such as music and dance, and also sample superb gastronomy in one of the most beautiful cities of Colombia and the Caribbean, recognized as the patrimony of mankind by UNESCO.
The apartment is 135 square meters long, situated on the first floor of a two level apartment. The entrance leads to a reception/dining room, which is part of the original construction of a XVII century home. The reception/dining room is nine meters long and five meters wide and some 10 meters high.
The kitchen is spacious and functional; the colonial balcony is large and delightful, covered with bougainvilleas and palms. A corridor leads to the second bedroom, also with an en suite bathroom. At the centre of the reception/dining room we come across a room which is designed as a waiting room but which can also be used as the third bedroom as it is equipped with a double sofa bed. A metal spiraling staircase from the beginning of XX century leads to the principal bedroom with an en suite bathroom, with a view to the reception from an internal balcony.
The perfect location of this apartment is one of its principal attractions, as is the roof terrace with a view of the sea and old town including the Cathedral which is illuminated at night. About The Owner
Viktor is an international lawyer and journalist who moved to Cartagena to escape harsh European winters. He bought this property to preserve its architectural heritage: most of what used to be called 'salon principal' in grand houses from 17th century have now been converted into multiple apartments, taking advantage of their enormous height. This apartment faithfully reflects rich historic tradition of Cartagena and will now be preserved as part of the architectural patrimony of this walled city.
