The Florsheim Mansion for the Arts has long been an important art destination in Chicago. The home is named after Lillian Florsheim, the shoe empire heiress who was one of the finest sculptors and gala host's of her day. The home was previously owned by the Director of Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art. In recent years the home has been used as an Artist in Residency destination for some of the world's most prestigious artists. The home also hosts numerous philanthropic events focused especially on showcasing the art, culture and music of the Middle East and other areas of conflict around the world. In a unique twist, artists are hosted at the mansion by benefactors from the other side of the conflict. A portion of your vacation rental will be allocated towards these philanthropic activities, as well as the ongoing restoration of the home.

Why The Owner chose Chicago
The Florsheim Mansion is one of our greatest joys. It is possibly the best and most significant house in Chicago's gold coast and it is a great honor to own it. In the tradition of the Mansion, we continue to make the space available to visiting artists, dignitaries, executives, families and groups.
What makes this estate unique
There are three key benefits. First is the location. You are literally steps from Lake Michigan, Chicago's best dining and shopping, the famous Rush Street, Michigan Avenue, etc. Second, this architecturally significant home is perfect for a group of 6-11 people (sleeping) and 10-15 people for small events. And third, is the most charming garden in the city.
