Their daughters and husbands join them in the business and now Will and Joan spend time enjoying their 5 grandchildren and sneaking away from time to time to Kapaa. They are please to share their condominium with you and are sure will also enjoy your stay. They also hope you enjoy a bottle of their own private label, which they provide for each rental period.
The Owner purchased this condo in 1997
We fell in love with its small town feel and the sound of the ocean waves caressing us as we relax in our living room or on the lanai. We love the relaxed, beautiful 12 acre setting and we wanted to choose quieter, cleaner, greener Kauai after visits to Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. We share the condominium with family and friends as well as folks looking for a Hawaiian getaway place to rent. We have a number of repeat renters who have also found our little gem to be most relaxing, with a fantastic location and amenities and unbelievable views and sunsets (and sunrises if you awaken early enough :-)
Kapaa is a friendly town with unlimited activities for everyone. From great shopping to sunshine, we have it. Grab a cup of coffee and homemade bread or macadamia nut sweet rolls at the local bakery. Enjoy shaved ice and an open air markets where locals shop for crafts, fresh local produce and sweets. Take a quiet walk along the beach or enjoy the ammenities of the condominium association or head out to the ocean to swim, surf or snorkel. Take an outing, golf, hike, four wheel, scuba, kayak, hula, sail, rest and then play again! Or stay home and BBQ the fresh catch of the day.
This unit was exactly what we were looking for in a Kauai vacation rental. It was also an outstanding value. Our home has beautiful mountain views so when we go on vacation, the last thing I want is to look at a garden or parking lot. B304 is exactly what the owners advertise: a beautiful, absolutely ocean front views of a lovely beach area.
The condo is spacious, clean and well-equipped. Unlike others who have reviewed below, we had no issues with the lack of air conditioning. Always a breeze, always cooled down at night. We were lucky to have great weather. Escaped one rainy day by going to Waimea. We cooked most of our meals in the condo. We packed so much into 8 days!!! We were all over that beautiful island!
We really enjoyed the Pono Kai resort too. Beautiful grounds and a laid-back, friendly vibe. Thank you, Nords for a great week! We enjoyed you wine too!
This unit was just right for a retired couple The condo was clean, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, near to grocery stores and restaurants. The elevator made this easy for a person with health challenges. The view was fabulous and it was great to be situated right by the ocean front walkway. We chose not to rent a car and took a cab from the airport. We purchased groceries and carried them back to the unit in backpacks. We had a relaxing and refreshing holiday.
The view was absolutely gorgeous. There was an issue with no air conditioning. There was not a breeze for a couple of days and without air conditioning in at least the bedroom it was uncomfortably hot to try and sleep, me were miserable. Once the trade winds turned there was a nice breeze coming in making it bearable. We slept in the living room to take advantage of the breezes and listen to the waves. There is an elevator, which I was thrilled to find (due to mobility issues). We love that this unit was centrally located on the island making it easy to access each side of the island in a timely manner. Unit is close to shopping and restaurants. Thank you for sharing your million dollar view. The Island is breathtaking. I do believe everyone should visit Kauai once in their lifetime and hopefully for us it will be more than once!!!! It was a wonderful place to celebrate our 20th Anniversary! I would suggest a baking sheet/ cookie sheet in the unit. Other than that the unit was well stocked with all items anyone could possibly need to cook. Due to severe allergies I cook a lot on vacations:/ Thank you again.
We had never been to Kauai before and picked Kapaa because it was the same distance to Hanalei Bay to the north and Poipu to the south. For us, this was the perfect choice because we traveled the whole island and saw as much as we possibly could. You could not get a better view from the lanai (3rd floor right on the water) and we enjoyed every sunrise there (9 mornings). We saw several cruise ships sailing north and one evening all the electricity went out in Kapaa, and as we sat on the lanai, a cruise ship sailed slowly by with all of it's lights on- beautiful. You are right on the 5 mile bike/walking path and that was also a big plus for us- walking into Historic Kapaa multiple times- only a couple of blocks. The grounds of the resort are very nice- altho we didn't use pool/spa they looked quite nice. Be aware tho- the beach right in front of the condo is not the best for swimming, pretty rough surf, but only a block or so north is better. The condo itself was a tad rough around the edges, but was a great size for us (my son slept in the loft where you could sleep at least 2 more people) and had everything you would expect in a condo. There is a washer/dryer on the first floor of the building and only 1.25 a load-very handy as there is no maid service for this unit and you do need to wash your own towels, bedding, etc for an extended stay- but for the price I was happy to do this. They have beach chairs and towels available in the unit (very handy) and I recommend renting any snorkle gear you might need from Kapaa Beach Rental a few blocks to the north (great gear and prices). We would definitely stay here again.
This was our second visit to Kauai. We thoroughly enjoyed it as much as the first time. This condo has awesome views and we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise or just listening to the waves - nothing better!!! The resort is will kept, wifi in the lobby and pool area was convenient for checking in, it is very centrally located and near many amenities. The beachfront path/walkway was great. The condo was very spacious and had everything you could need plus more (beach towels, chairs, toys, coolers etc.).
Would have given this review at least 4.5 starts except that we would have appreciated air conditioning. There were no trade winds to speak of during our visit and it was very warm even with all the windows open. The condo could also use a facelift. The paint, fridge and bathroom are looking very tired.
We would not hesitate to recommend this condo but with a warning of there not being any a/c.
This was a very nice condo to stay in. We loved the view, the walking path in front and its location. The condo itself is a bit tired but it superbly outfitted with everything we needed, including a boogie board, beach chairs and coolers. It was hard to cool off the bedroom as its window opens directly onto the walkway, so we could not open the blinds until we turned off all the lights due to privacy issues. Our son stayed in the loft and he stayed fairly cool with the fan on high.
