Cortijo Leontino is situated at 970 m above sea level in the Almeria village of Taberno. This is an old Andalusian farmhouse dating back more than a century and carefully restored by the grandson of the founder of this house. The accommodation still preserves the name with which it has always been known by the local villagers. A name which it got from the person who built it: grandfather Leontino.
It is set in an ecological farm, recognised by the Andalusian Ecological Agriculture Committee (CAAE), and has swimming pools for adults and children, swings and hundred year-old Holm oaks, almond trees, olive trees, vineyard, fruit trees and 30 hectares of reforested lands. The tranquillity and quietness of the area are guaranteed and also, from several parts of the farm you can enjoy the superb views of the surrounding area, weather permitting, such as the Cabezo de la Jara (Murcia), the stretches of Murcian coastline, the Almeria coastline of Mojácar, the mountains of Sierra Cabrera, Sierra de los Filabres, Tetica de Bacares and Calar Alto (the Hispanic-German Astronomy Observatory, situated at more than 2000 m above sea level), Sierra de Baza, Sierra de las Estancias, Sierra de María and Vélez, which are all quite close to the accommodation.
Cortijo Leontino is made up of three renovated farmhouses : Casa Leontino (sleeping six people), Casa de la abuela (sleeping six people), Casa del horno (sleeping four people), and can be rented as a whole or independently or per room depending on the number of vacancies. Come and visit this wonderful scenery and become a spectator of nature at its best!
