Best beach in Kauai. Enjoy the sunny south shore in this beautiful tropical resort with orchid gardens, lush greenery and large grassy areas. This is traditional Hawaiian plantation style at its best ... not your typical high rise hotel. You can spend your entire vacation here without getting into your car. This resort provides free beach chairs and towels and rents all watersports equipment. Surfing lessons also available. Two premiere golf courses in Poipu and the office staff can arrange tennis matches for you as well. Come and enjoy the paradise of the Garden Isle of Kauai !
We both grew up at the beach in Southern California, and raised our family in San Diego. Our family loves surfing, the beach lifestyle and all tropical locations, so Hawaii is a second home to us!
The Garlands purchased this condo in 2010
We started bringing our boys to the Kiahuna Plantation when they were young. Kauai is our favorite Hawaiian island with its lush tropical vegetation. The Kiahuna is the perfect place for families, fun and relaxing... so we kept going back. We finally decided to buy a condo so that we could enjoy more frequent trips to our favorite Hawaiian island!
We were delighted with how everything went with this condo rental. I am an avid reader of hotel room reviews, but renting a condo was new for us. We chose Poipu and the Kiahuna Plantation because we really liked the beach, village feel and laid-back atmosphere compared to Waikiki. The owners were super easy to deal with. Noise from the lot out front was not an issue and we stayed for 9 nights. I questioned the lack of glass windows for possible noise problems, but again there was no issue. You can easily close the shutters. Not once did any noise wake up our sleeping baby. The weather was great and we never needed AC. All kitchen appliances were in perfect order and we cooked 3 times per day. The owners kept in touch with us during our stay to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The condo overall was very clean and proximity to the beach was great! We preferred the location of this building #32 over other beachfront buildings since it felt more private and was surrounded by vegetation. We loved breakfasts on the patio and actually saw whales from the balcony and twice on the beach! It was a treat, especially to our parents who were visiting from Europe. The condo had LAN, Wi-Fi internet, satellite TV, CD and DVD player - more than you should need when on vacation. We liked the small shopping village across the road. There is an ABC Store there along with small retail shops and restaurants like Starbucks, Roys, Keokis & Puka Dogs. I would recommend a short 2 minute drive past the roundabout to a newer shopping village with more restaurants, health store and bigger selection of baked goods. I believe this property deserves a full 5-STARS for condos. You cannot be wrong by booking with these owners. Even though we should consider visiting Maui, I suspect that we will end up at Poipu again. And if this is the case, I am sure it will be at this condo.
We had an awesome time. Loved the location. Communication with the owner was helpful and responsive. Poipu is a great place to stay and we enjoyed every minute!
This condo is really spacious with the kitchen and living area upstairs and two bedrooms and two baths downstairs--everything you will need for your stay. Entry to the condo is from down stairs. It's a short walk to the beautiful beach. You can do as many outdoor activities as you want or kick back and relax on the lanais or on the lovely grounds. Good restaurants and shopping across the street. No rain from Dec. 4-12! Highly recommend!
This condo is great. Very spacious and has amazing ocean view. Every morning we enjoyed taking pictures of stunning sunrise. The location is great, short walk to the beach and not to far from shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed walking across the street to shop and eat. The interior has Hawaiian style furniture and pretty much everything you need. The kitchen is nice and big a lot of counter space. We cooked a lot of food and I even baked cakes. Kichen could use some updating but nothing major. This was our second time staying in Kiahuna plantation but it was our first time renting from the owner. We happy we did it this way because we new exactly where our unit will be and the owner was very friendly and helpful.
We love Kiahuna plantations because it has amazing grounds and it is great for families. Our doughter was crying on the last day of our trip, she loved it so much that she did not want to leave. We did not want to leave too. Poipu beach is the best beach and Kauai is the best island of all Hawaii islands. Our vacation was unforgettable we loved every day of it. So we are coming back soon. We would love to rent this unit again and hope that it will be available for our next trip.
We stayed in this condo in May and the Garlands were wonderful hosts. They were very communicative about the rental, and replied quickly to my questions that I had while we were staying there. The living area was very spacious, the bedrooms a good size, and we found the 2 bed condo to be a lot roomier than the 1 bed condo we stayed in at Kiahuna previously. I would note that the description and photos of the ocean view are exactly as described - the balcony overlooks a grassy area and a (small) parking lot for another resort. As others said the parking lot was not noisy and not a problem at all, just be aware that it is there.
Kiahuna Plantation itself is great place to stay. This is our 2nd stay and we enjoy it a lot. The pool was upgraded since we were last there and the improvements are nice. Poipu is a lot sunnier than the rest of the island, great beach weather.
My son's family with two toddlers came out from Missouri to meet me in California and go on to Kauai for a week. What a wonderful time we had!! I have been to the Kiahuna Plantation several times, and this was certainly the best condo I have stayed in....and the closest to the beach. Kim was wonderful to work with and answered my questions within a couple minutes it seemed like. The Condo was very well furnished and very clean. We could not have asked for a better place....and certainly a bargain price wise compared to some accommodations. We always love being right across the street from the shopping center. We had rain several nights which kept everything clean and green, and only had a short shower one day during the day. We won't hesitate to go back to the same condo. Thanks so much. Nancy
Very spacious and clean for our family of four! The owners were very accommodating and sent us tons of information on surrounding area and events. We can't wait to come back to this gem.
Golf and Tennis - Free tennis provided at Kiahuna Tennis Club 9am-6pm. Kiahuna Golf course across the street. Poipu Bay golf course (2 miles east) near the Hyatt and Puakea (in Lihue) are beautiful. After 4pm at Poipu Bay, you can play for $10 with a child (age 6-17) who plays free - you must have your own clubs and walk (amazing deal since green fees are $120-$185).
The Kukuiolono course (6 miles west) is funky and inexpensive. The Wailua course is inexpensive and good. The Princeville and Kauai Lagoons courses are outstanding.
