Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

We have two baby daughters. Here's why you care: We bought the house on the street behind us a couple of years ago and did a complete historic renovation on it. It's two stories and we use the top as a guest apartment for both grandmother's when they visit, which is not nearly enough. So we rent it out when they are not there, which is unfortunately most of the time.

It's nice. We have two large bedrooms, both with queen beds and personality. Only one bath, but it's got a Jacuzzi tub. The kitchen is small, but you're not coming to New Orleans to eat in. A nice living room, stereo, cable Flat Screen TV, lots of CDs and DVDs and books, and WiFi. All very comfortable. The one downside is that this is the second floor, so you have to climb stairs. But then you get the front gallery (porch) you can hang out on as a reward.

And we love our location. We're one house off Magazine street, right in the coolest section. Tons of great restaurants, bars, shopping of all kinds, coffeehouses - Magazine is a great street. And we're more than happy to give you all the guides and suggestions you need. We're locals, and know our way around New Orleans.

We're also inside the parade route, so we're only a few blocks from the Mardi Gras parades in a couple of directions.

Bottom line, we love New Orleans, which is why we're here. And we love our neighborhood, which is why we chose it. And we made the apartment nice enough for our mothers, so it's definitely nice enough for you.

We were in town for a graduation and stayed 2 nights. It was a great Uptown location! The layout is perfect for couples or families. The place was easy to find and had everything you needed. Very clean, comfortable!

comfortable, easy access to all NOLA has to offer

We stayed 3 nights as we explored Magazine Street, the Garden District and all NOLA has to offer. The street car on St. Charles is convenient as is the bus on Magazine so our car was parked in the secure side lot all 3 days. There are lots of shops and restaurants on Magazine - really easy to go out for breakfast and dinner at different spots each day. We definitely recommend this for a family or close friends.

Great for a family, clean, comfortable

Highly recommend. This was perfect for our family. We spent 3 nights here with our kids, ages 8 and 12. The location is just steps off Magazine Street, with many shops and restaurants, but the home is quiet and relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. We walked to the street line on St. Charles and took it downtown for the French Quarter, French Market, aquarium, and more. We also easily took the streetcar the other way to the zoo and Garden District. We aren't used to public transportation, but from this location we were able to park the car for two days and still get where we wanted to go. Riding the streetcars was part of the fun. The bus is even closer. The home itself is nicely furnished with two spacious bedrooms, with the living/kitchen area in between. Beds were comfortable, and the entire place was clean. A bonus is the large collection of books and CDs, which we all enjoyed browsing. The wi-fi access was also helpful. The balcony is a nice place to read, enjoy the night air, or watch people coming and going on Magazine. The kitchen is small but was enough for us to fix breakfast, lunch, and night-time snacks a few times. The owners' house is separate and across the yard, so we still had plenty of privacy. We met the owners and could have found them easily if there had been any problems. We had a great vacation and this place was everything we needed!

Nice Apartment, Great Location

Photos show it as it is. Nice inside, with some interesting New Orleans "funky" decor. Check out the large "antique" lights in one of the bedrooms. Terrific location in the Garden District 1/2 block from Magazine St. Lots of good places to eat, grocery stores, etc. in walking distance. Trolley to almost everywhere a short walk. Nice collection of "good" books. Actually, great books. No problem finding parking. Fun & interesting hosts/owners.

If you arent 21 you just found your dream place to stay. Hop on magazine bus route into the crazy, hop back out of the crazy. We loved it. Long live New Orleans!

Perfect Location

Perfect location right in the middle of the Magazine St. area. The size and accommodations for this property was just right for our trip. The owner is also very nice and responsive. Would love to stay here again. Much better than a hotel.
