Stunning location: As the name suggests, Cliffhouse perches above the Caribbean Sea on the North West Coast of Jamaica, in a quiet fishing village called Cousin’s Cove. The property nestles in nearly 2 acres of tropical woodland with the house perched 10 meters from the cliff edge giving breathtaking views of the ever changing sea, the glorious evening sunsets and the moonshine dancing on the waves. The entrance to the property is dominated by a majestic bamboo tree that towers above the drive. About Nicholas Austin
We have owned Cliffhouse for many years now, about 15 I think. We fell in love with this part of Jamaica after visiting and staying at a friends villa just on the other side of the bay. We have always loved Jamaican music and culture and Cousins Cove was everything we hoped it would be. A perfect slice of a true rural jamaican community unspoilt by the commercialism on some of the more well know parts of the island.
Why Nicholas Austin chose Negril
Within days of first visiting and staying within the Cousins Cove community we felt at home. The people are so friendly and genuine, each time I went back I met more and more wonderful friends and it is they that made every trip so special. So much so that we had to buy our own property and once Cliffhouse became available to buy we had to make an offer! The property is a private villa, run by a team of locals that we have known since they were teenagers when used to come and hang with us to get free beers and listen to music and tell us all about there lives.
What makes this villa unique
A truly beautiful and unspoilt part of Jamaica. Totally private and peaceful. If you are looking for bars and clubs then you need to head towards Negril, but if you are looking to get to know what Jamaican rural life is really like this is the place for you.
Guestbook comments from the owner
We had a wonderful time at the Cliff house. Everything about it was perfect, Dan had kept the whole thing a secret and told us we were going to Spain right up to the time of check in. The location was great too, so peaceful, I was always first up not wanting to waste one moment of our beautiful surroundings sitting in the hammock with my cup of tea looking out over the reef. The evenings also were amazing the beautiful fireflies and the sounds of the tree frogs.
O`neil, Angelita, Yogi were all wonderful, Vessel really looked after the boys and drove them where ever they wanted to go. We always enjoyed our walks down to the little store and of course the stop off at Bryron's bar on the way back. We had the best goodbye ever, Harvey our son, played his guitar (lots of Bob Marley stuff) and everyone in Bryrons joined in. We made some great friends and I`m sure we`ll be back. Thankyou so much .
