Put Stress on Hold.
From the moment you kick off your Travel clothes, Linga Awile embraces you with the best of island paradise. We found ourselves sometimes just standing at the edge of the living room, by the pool, looking down the yard, past the beach and it's palm-covered umbrellas, into the bay…an unbelievable reality for our two week stay.
The only thing better than the view from this mini-paradise is the attention of the staff. They were so accommodating it seemed at times like we didn't ask enough of them. Every morning was a delicious breakfast served to us like we were at the Four Seasons, with a picnic lunch and multi-course dinner to follow.
We immediately contacted a taxi company when we arrived and scheduled a few excursions, but I would have been content to just sit and watch the days flow by from the oceanfront gazebo (We had two kids with us, and a 15 and 16 year-old can lose sight of how beautiful it can be to just slow down). We used Donette at Ken's taxi for great prices on rides to excursions. Jenni had us picked up by another service, who was also great (John Clark) but we needed to pay with a credit card, Ken's accommodated that desire.
But as I said, no excursions were needed, really, once you factor in the activities here at the cottage. My son and I played football daily on the grounds, and Bocci became a fun family event, as did kayaking and snorkeling (all equipment was available and in good working order). The biggest luxury afforded by this location is time to spend with your family, away from the "important" things of everyday life.
The pool made a nice location for late afternoon drinks, or general cooling off. Likewise the floating 'dock' about 25 yards from shore, where we met other visitors to the bay. The property shares its beach with the larger companion home, but we didn't have any trouble finding privacy even with other renters next door.
The bedrooms are generous in space. We were four, but could easily have slept 3 more in our space. The staff kept them clean. There was a very short adjustment time while the staff tried anticipating our needs and scheduling, but looking back, another guest could avoid this by being direct, and simply coordinating upon arrival. Honestly we were not accustomed to such prompt and constant service, but we adapted in time to our every need being taking care of!
This is a beautiful home, and our time here will not be forgotten soon.
