Amenities Galore on the 3rd Floor

What can I say that hasn't already been said. Great view, lots of amenities not only in the kitchen but beach toys and chairs, lots of towels, books to read and even the Road to Hana audio tour. This unit was loaded with things you would think you could only find "at home". Vivian has gone to great lengths to keep the unit well stocked and well maintained. Although we would have preferred to be closer to the beach, the view was great. For the first few days of our visit, there were no Trade Winds to keep us cool in the bedroom. The Kona winds were bringing warm, muggy air and there was no air conditioning in the bedroom which made it rather difficult sleeping but when the Trade Winds came back, it cooled the place right down. The only thing we really had a problem with was being located directly in front of the elevators. Although there are signs posted that this area is a "quiet zone" there were other travellers there that paid no mind to it. It was rather disruptive being awakened at 6:45 a.m. to people laughing and carrying-on in the hallway just outside the bedroom window. As much as we loved staying at this condo, and we loved the price we paid, I don't think I could overlook the noise we experienced from other people in the building that have no respect for others. For the most part, we had a good stay. We enjoyed the beach and the pool, and loved Moose McGillicuddy's restaurant, especially happy hour. Thank you Vivian.
Owner's Response: Aloha Susan~
Thank you for your 4 star review and adding your review to the other 26 on our site. We appreciate how you noticed that we have our condo stocked with all of the necessary and even extra items and how well maintained we keep it. With our lower rates, many guests have commented that they were surprised at what we have supplied. Our view is awesome and attracts guests to return every year, a few, for months at a time. With the beach across the street from our resort, the restaurants and shopping close by, Kihei Akahi is a convenient resort to choose for your "Holiday".
We had Sound Proof Windows installed in the bedroom and find that if closed tightly, you don't notice the passer byes, as when the sound proof windows are open. I have also heard from other owners up and down the hall, that they can hear excited guests walking by their units as well, which sometimes can be a nuisance. This is common in most resorts that have windows facing a walkway. In reading the prior reviews on our Homeaway.com site, no one has mentioned distractions outside our unit, I am sorry that it was bothersome to you. We did have an air conditioner in the bedroom, however, some guests were not very conscientious of the costs in running it. They would never turn it off and our bill for a month was extremely high, so we had to disconnect it. However, we do have a ceiling fan and another large fan located in the bedroom for our guests to use. In our complex some units don't even have air conditioning in the living-room, which we have. We try to make our guests as comfortable as possible. Thanks again for choosing our condo.
