Kevin purchased this apartment in 1985
The late Carl Anderson and Pam courageously built their dream home by hand. Loving the west side for its miles of white sand beaches and uncrowded surf spots. Unbelievable sunsets with great waves, views of whales, boaters, and other sea life from the deck.
For surfers there's a great surf spot across the street with year round surfing and boogie boarding. No matter what time of year we get swells from both directions. We have no extra charges for the many ammenities we offer. We are twenty minutes from either Poli Hale Beach (one of the greatest) and the Waimea Canyon (sometimes descibed as th Grand Canyon of the Pacific).
Had a wonderful time at Pam & Kevin's ocean view house. The place was clean and comfortable, the view of the ocean and waves fantastic! Pam and Kevin were both very friendly & helpful and we borrowed a mountain bike of theirs along with a surfboard. There is a surf break, Davidson's within walking distance that was fun but choppy when we were there because of the trade winds. There is also a better break about 7-8 minutes away by car, Pekala's which is a great left and protected from the trade winds. Waimea canyon access road is just a couple of minutes away by car to some fantastic hiking.
We started our honeymoon in Kauai and staying here was a nice treat. In hindsight, f we could have spent the whole two weeks there, I think it would've been worth it. Just the same, watching the waves from the deck and seeing the stars at night reach almost down to the horizon... wow. The view from the shower window is pretty cool too. We both enjoyed our stay there, the hosts were especially nice and helpful, and we recommend this for others. The south shore of Kauai is nice and quiet with a relaxed pace.
I had a wonderful 10 day stay at Hale Nalu in Kekaha. Pam and Kevin were exceptional hosts. The apartment, with high wood beam ceilings (nobody mentions that, but I noticed it right away) was clean and had very comfortable furniture and ambiance. All the appliances were in good working order. Granite counter tops in the kitchen and bath were a plus. The shower was quite large. There was a king size bed and plenty of storage/closet space in the bedroom. I never needed the AC - the ceiling fan in the living area and shady north-facing bedroom were perfect. And, as Kevin told me, “everything you need is available here!” The highlight, of course, were the incredible ocean views from the balcony. Morning coffee at sunrise – check; afternoon stroll on the beach – check; watching the boats, surfers, fishermen, dog-walkers, etc. – check; enjoying a drink and taking sunset pictures – check. The road noise didn’t bother me one bit. The second highlight was the hospitality of Pam and Kevin. I borrowed their beach supplies several times. We even had a blues jam session on the balcony one night with Kevin on harmonica, the next door neighbor on guitar and Pam and I providing support. I’ll always remember that! I was very touched that they invited me for Christmas dinner, but alas, I had already eaten. We still had a good visit though. I will definitely come again. It was a perfect get-away for me . . . maybe I can talk my sister and niece into joining me! Mahalo, Pam and Kevin, for wonderful vacation memories.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this property. It has a great location! You're right by Polihale State Park, Waimea State Park, and Kokee State Park and also right by the beaches at Poipu. You have a great view of the ocean, we loved hearing the waves at night, and the Kekaha beach park is just a few minutes away so you can always take a dip there.
Pam and Kevin were great hosts, always making sure we had everything we needed. They provide beach equipment which was great! Thank you again for a great stay!
What a great place this is ! The weather was beautiful, accom. compfy and clean. The view from this place is nothing less than breathtaking. We soooo enjoyed sitting out on the balcony, watching the wales go by and the ocational family of dolphins .Also... Pam's Love of surfing is absolutely contagous! Her willingness to help others learn is awsome. Thanks Pam and Kevin...You're fantastic hosts and we had a ton of fun! We WILL be back :)
This was a fantastic place to stay. Right on the beach with good surfing across the street. Pam and Kevin are friendly and outgoing. There are surf boards, and ever other water activity toys you may need available to borrow. It's a close drive to Waimea Canyon, and the further you drive down the beach the more beautiful the vistas become.
3 of us stayed there for a few nights, enjoying the pool, using the kitchen, and watching the sunsets from the patio. There's even HBO.
I recommend staying here, and look forward to our next visit to the dry and sunny side of Kauai.
