My husband and I love Oahu so much we decided to build our own place here. You will find all the comforts of home, and much more!
Carol Moreno purchased this house in 2010
I built this house for myself. I hope others who visit will enjoy it as much as I. Laie is the undiscovered jewel of Oahu - making its own statement. I continually remain in awe of its naked, unparalleled beautiful ocean from sunrise to sunset and starlit sky from dusk to dawn.
Peace and quiet on a beautiful beach and adventure on others. We treasure hunt for colored, glass fishnet balls that wash up on the beaches between Turtle Bay resort and Kahuku. Other fun, close by benefits to the Northshore of Oahu near Laie include the Polynesian Cultural Center, Kualoa Ranch with its many, unique activities, Dole Plantation, Byodo-In Temple and Macadamia Nut Factory. Surf large waves just 20 minutes away in Sunset Beach and watch hundreds of turtles on the beach near Chun's Reef. Seals often sun themselves on the beach right in front of this house.
I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem. Everything is perfect and comfortable, even the beds. I have 3 children and everybody can settle down in the evening with their own TV. I will be back!
This house was in a great location, fit our family of 7 perfectly! (Although there was a charge for the 7th person and they did not provide extra beach towels or toilet paper. Not sure why they charged then.) The home is located next to an apartment complex and they were quite loud into late hours of the night. The nights they weren't loud we were able to open our windows and listen to the ocean which was great! Overall good stay.
This house is really amazing. The location is right on the water. The details of art work to furnishings were beautiful.
I would highly recommend this property. I also own a house in Maui we rent so we are very picky about how clean the house is.
The cleaning service does a GREAT job. Would love to return
We absolutely loved this rental! Very clean, lovely decor, and gorgeous property. The beach was steps away and most of the time it was all ours! Shade (if you wanted it), sun, sand, and surf were all fabulous. The nearby Polynesian Cultural Center, Laie LDS temple, and all the North shore sights are not to be missed! We will be back!
We rented this house from July 7-14. It is truly an AMAZING home and location! It is a nicely furnished home with very comfortable beds! The view is "to die" for and having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was perfect since we traveled with our teenage daughter and son! I would recommend this house to anyone because we had such an incredible vacation and the home was great to come back to everyday! There are boogie boards and snorkeling gear in the closet attached to the garage. It is about a 20-30 minute drive to the North Shore town of Haleiwa where there are shops and restaurants. Fun stuff: Surfing (North Shore Surf Girls were excellent!), swimming with turtles in the ocean at Chuns reef (same beach where we surfed), Waimea Bay beach (there is a HUGE ROCK that juts out into the ocean and we had a blast jumping of the rock at different heights ranging from 8ft to 25 feet! This was the highlight for my teenagers. There are also bathroom facilities), Waimea Bay Beach Park (where a short hike, on pavement, takes you to a waterfall where you can swim right up to it! Life jackets available), ATV ride at Kualoa ranch (amazing and you ride where Jurassic Park was filmed! Gorgeous!), Jet skiing at Haleiwa (right over the bridge behind Haleiwa Joe's restaurant. Look for a small hut. Our kids were surrounded by a school of dolphins out in the ocean!!), snorkeling, and Pearl Harbor (go to the USS Missouri and take the tour. The memorial was closed when we went due to high winds, but the Missouri tour was very interesting). Food: Kahuku Grill (not fancy or $$-next to the gas station...garlic shrimp and dip in french fry sauce), Maui Mikes (on the way to Pearl Harbor. Not fancy either. Get there when it opens at 10:30. Limited seating), Haleiwa Joes (NOT the one in Haleiwa but the other one about 30 minutes south of the house. Fancy dinner and food was superb. There is a botanical garden along with a beautiful view! Wear bug repellant and try to sit by the railing. Call ahead for reservation) and Teds bakery is a good breakfast stop. Not impressed with Giovanni's shrimp truck food.
DON'T pass up the opportunity to stay in this GREAT home and lovely area! This was the best VACATION of our lives!!!!
We just left our wonderful rental house Laie, HI. This house is beautifully decorated and makes you feel right at home. If you are looking for something laid back, on the beach and away from Waikiki - this is it. It was awesome having our own private beach area. We were looking to relax and get some down time and we did. There is parking on street or driveway (but it's tight) tough turn around. I would rent this house again.
This house is beyond what we expected! It was perfect for our group (5) and felt very cozy and welcoming. Everything was exactly as described and the beach behind the house is amazing and feels so private that you feel like you are in your own little world. The kitchen had everything you need, the beds were comfortable and having three bathrooms for each bedroom was so nice. I am so glad we stayed on North Shore and out of the craziness and hustle and bustle of Honolulu, I feel that we really got a local vibe and was much more relaxing. We enjoyed BBQing and then sitting on the deck afterwards and relaxing. We recommend checking out the Polynesian center, Seven Brothers (crazy fries are awesome), Pearl Harbor, Hanauma Bay, Aloha Stadium Swap Meet, snorkeling the beach that is your backyard here (saw lots of beautiful fish) and just taking your time and driving around the island and enjoying stopping at beaches and sightseeing. We will be looking to rent this house again in the future when we visit Oahu again. Dealing with Carol was so easy and she was always there to answer questions for us. Thank you for letting us rent this beautiful house!
The only thing that was a downside for us is the house smelled STRONGLY of bleach when we first arrived, which one member of our group is allergic to bleach so we had to air out the house for a while. Other than that everything was great! :)
Spectacular ocean views, whale, dolphin & turtle watching from the master br, living & dining rooms, deck, lawn & beach. Relax in reverse gravity recliners! Swim & snorkel right in front of your house in calm, crystal clear, warm water all year long. Walk to grocery and shopping, to the famous Polynesian Cultural Center, BYU & to the interesting Laie Point all located in Laie. Surf Oahu's many famous surf spots (Banzai, Sunset, Waimea). Golf numerous local, reasonably priced, public golf courses or indulge yourself at Turtle Bay Golf course just a short drive away. Visit Pearl Harbor to see the Battleship Missouri, Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head, dozens of museums, botanical gardens, Dole Plantation, dolphin excursions, Hawaii's Ali'i Luau, Historical Haleiwa, art galleries, shark encounters, Kualoa Ranch for endless activities (ATV's, horseback riding, etc.). For your convenience we have left a pamphlet listing activities and points of interest at your house.
Other Activities: Boating, hiking, mini golf, shopping, kayaking, health/beauty spa, parasailing, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, kite surfing and in Old Town Haleiwa stand up paddle boarding, shopping and restaurants. Hundreds of turtles on beach near Chuns Reef (just south of Sunset Beach) on the way to Haleiwa.
Golf: Turtle Bay, 10 minutes away, is a world class golf resort. Kahuku, 5 minutes away, has a 9 hole public course that runs along the ocean with greens fees less than $40.00
